•for example w their halloween costumes, they wear mourning jewlery!!! like black beads made from like glass or wood, dark colored rings, maybe a flower or somethin too, yknow that kinda thing

•they also tend to wear black n purple since thats accociated with mourning n death in haitian culture

•AND FINALLY they also wear like scarves or headwraps and in angelas case she also has a white or black veil

•and like i said like last year, theyre mom is a haitian catholic, they r NOT allowed to celebrate halloween but look at me through my virtual eyes and tell me they care

•moving along, now i personally love having this idea that pony just has this book he draws scary shit in for fun, sometimes its from his nightmares sometimes its just for experimenting, but generally when halloween strums around, he hangs them up as like decorations cause sometimes they can’t afford em

•to b a funny shit, two bit adds that floating shopping list from spongebob and he thinks he’s sooooooo funny after making that joke 3 halloweens in a row (im just a hater he is actually very funny)

•speaking of halloween and culture, halloween comes from ireland and correct me if i’m wrong but halloween at first was this different catholic day where like u would dress up scary to blend in w demons n ghost and what not so they wouldn’t like curse you or something along those lines, and since i hc the curtis’ to b half irish and two bit to b like ¼th irish (he’s mostly cambodian if u wanna know), i feel like the outlook they have on halloween is like they don’t see it as this terrible scary holiday but like this holiday that’s like supposed to b scary but like for ur sake to stay safe??? think of it as a necessary “evil” and idk they kinda see it as an outlet if that makes sense, escape ur life for a while to make it better ig

•weirdly enough i hc dally to b more of a christmas guy than a halloween guy, sylvia on the other hand loves halloween so she literally forces him to participate in it cause if they arent a cute couple they can at least TRY to look like one

•she does something like paint his face to b a skeleton or somethin, theyre bickering while shes doin it but whatever we ball

•cherry usually throws a big halloween party for socs at her house

•marcia also throws a party bc she wants to go w two bit but she cant cause the socs would kick them out so she throws a secret lil party in the woods so her and twi bit could b together

-also to mention, the shepard gang also throws a party in those same woods so at some point the party just kinda merges and its one big ass party

•she even lets the gang come along too!!! randys there too but who cares about that guy its all about marcia rn😍😍😍😍

•marcia and twobit r like THAT cute couple u see, marcia dresses as daphne while twobit is fred and maybe marcia has a pet that can dress as scooby doo, or mr and mrs potatoe head, ALL U NEED TO KNOW IS they r the cutest couple ever they deserve sm id die for em

•now PURLY on the other hand man oh man, their costumes r always rushed, they argue (lovingly i promise) about what kinda costume they should wear, at somepoint near halloween curlys already wasted and its this whole entire thing

•idk who bc it works for both of em, but one of em is dragging the other to go trick or treating bc hello???free candy??????

•the dx gives out candy so usually as much as they hate it pony and curly make a trip there, especially bc pony has “my older brother works at the gas station” privileges and gets WAYYY more candy than any other 6 year old within a 10 mile radius of the dx

•even so, curlys just gonna steal some kids candy bag so either way it plays out, pony and him WILL get a shit ton of candy

•i haven’t forgotten about my man johnny!!!!! w johnny, the most he doesnt celebrate at home cause i hc him as bengali and mexican and as far as ik in bangladesh halloween isnt rlly celebrated and when it comes to his mexican side (his family in particular) theyre more so focused in dia de los muertos soooooo maybe not the most prepared guy for halloween

•but idk maybe he also wears cultural stuff like a punjabi (panjabi???? ive seen it spelt both ways), some jewlery, and a bit of make up inspired by calavera make up many mexicans wear for dia de los muertos

•u will not escape my cultural hcs so one more but haitians (who practive voodou not every haitians do vodou guys) also have a day of the dead called fete gede and dia de los muertos and fete gede r celebrated on the same days so i hc that while they arent rlly close, they have that “omg cultural twins” moment and share some things from their celebration and give it to the other as a sign of respect or somethin

•ok back onto halloween hcs, at some point steve and curly have a drinking contest, spoiler alert: nobody won

•they drank the same amount, passed out at the same time, and pony and soda both had to drag em home so the tie breaker of who got the most wasted doesnt matter either

darry,dally, and tim- they have little to no genuine support system and have to harbor everything they go through pretty much alone and bottle shit up cause growing up quickly sucks

tim- his parents werent rlly parents, so he had to emotionally mature fast and understand what they did wrong in life and in having kids so that he could better take care of angela and curly, he learns quickly that looking out for ur own blood can save ur skin more than yknow it, his parents arent around rlly anymore and he doesnt exactly know where they run off to even if they come back home for a few days but he knows theyll never learn that

angela- she canonically had a break down about her life being actual dogshit and bryon says that in the morning she’ll go back to her own stone cold strong self cause thats just the way she is, that’s just the way she’s learned to go through life

curly- faces a shit ton of oppression (even if u dont agree w him being queer hes still black to me but if u dont see him as black hes still a poc and a greaser) so hes just learned to do whatever he wants bc no matter what he does hes always gonna b judged so y not live life to the fullest and in a way that makes him happy, he’ll still be shunned, but at least he’ll be happy

tim- i cant properly find the words to explain it, but someone needs to check up on this nigga fr, a good portion of the neighborhood is religious, especially the older ppl yet they always judge him for one thing and another, nobody is rlly genuinely hoping (or in this case praying) he gets better

curly- shameless reminder that i ship purly, so I thought about curly saying this to pony for a sec cause i think cures that type guy to just explore the world any way he wants and he’ll do anything to get someone to join him in on it

the shepards but most particularly angela- for some reason she held her parents in a high light cause unlike some kids in the neighborhood they had them both, curly and tim knew this wasn’t rlly the case very quickly and as angela grew up, bit by bit she knew what they meant and would lay or even cry in bed over it
