Tumblr Top Ships Bracket - FINALS

This poll is a celebration of fandom and fandom history; we're aware that there are certain issues with many of the listed pairings and sources, but they are a part of that history. Please do not take this as an endorsement, and refrain from harassment.

"who even are they" i'll tell you then :)

sulemio is the ship between suletta mercury and miorine rembran from mobile suit gundam: the witch from mercury. suletta is the protagonist and miorine is considered the heroine, but they're the two main characters and their relationship is central to the show.

at the start of the show, suletta transfers to the asticassia school of technology all the way from mercury. she runs into miorine, who she later finds out is the daughter of the president of this space empire that owns asticassia. so she's the school princess, but not only that, she's also the "bride". the school rules dictate that the highest ranking pilot/duelist, or the "holder", would be miorine's fiancé. think the rose bride if you know utena. because miorine is essentially a ticket to power, the holder position is highly sought-after. suletta gets caught up in all this and ends up beating the former holder (who's a violent douchebag who hurt miorine), effectively becoming the new holder and miorine's fiancé. that's just episode 1. they go through a lot which i don't want to spoil but they are explicitly and indisputably Married by the end of the story.

while sulemio is relatively unpopular here, they are by no means "unknown" or "not mainstream". first of all, they're from gundam and frankly it's offensive how there are people here who don't know what gundam is :)) mobile suit gundam is a 45 year-old franchise and very much a mainstream one as one of the highest-selling media franchises ever. it's literally up there with franchises like pokemon, dragon ball, one piece, etc. witch from mercury in particular was a highly anticipated gundam show for being the first ever mainline series to have a female protagonist in the franchise's long male-led history. a queer poc one on top of that! among the franchise's lead gundams, suletta's gundam aerial recorded the HIGHEST initial sales in the franchise's history.

g-witch was also very popular in japan, nearly every tweet from the official account would have 20k+ interactions fast, up to 100k+ likes, and it was the TOP trending anime and 3rd OVERALL on jp twitter in 2023. mind you, unlike in korea and china, twitter is the second most used social media app in japan. both suletta and miorine also often ranked high on jp magazine polls (there were other polls where they ranked first but this is the only pic of a magazine poll i have atm).

sulemio trended multiple times on twitter, it currently has over 10.7k works on pixiv, and it was the 3rd top ship in japan's biggest doujin convention in 2023. and obviously, they made it to tumblr's top 100 ships of 2023.

now you know g-witch/sulemio are pretty popular even if you've never heard of them from your m/m cave.

i'm rooting for sulemio all the way bc i genuinely love the ship and both characters. suletta is pure sunshine and miorine is girlbossfail and my favorite character ever atm. i like their dynamic and the struggle between their simple want to be together vs a lot of external and internal factors driving them apart. sulemio overcoming those and actually ending up together was one of the happiest i've ever been as a viewer. that and i think it's funny that they got this far.

Apple propaganda notwithstanding, the reason tower PCs are big isn’t because they’re outdated. The reason tower PCs are so bulky is because they’re designed to be user serviceable. The case has lots of open space so your big, meaty hands can easily access all of the components, and everything is secured with friction-fit tabs and standard machine screws to minimise the need for specialised tools. A properly laid out tower PC is fully serviceable with a single Phillips-head screwdriver and no greater manual skill than your average Lego playset – heck, for some of the more modern case layouts you don’t even need the screwdriver, unless you’re performing major surgery like a full motherboard replacement.

Like, think about who benefits from convincing you that a fully modular computing device that can be serviced and repaired with your bare hands and minimal technical skill is unfashionable.

the BEST new pokémon in gen 9 btw are these two sanrio reject ass mice that count as one pokemon together

but they they silently evolve from level 25+ into the exact same two mice but now they have 1 or 2 kids with them. literally you open your party to discover that these two mice FUCKED in their pokeball and have now sprung their kid(s) on you

im a big fan of their horrible mouths personally

I love it when anons/guests find my works and kudo/leave reviews, but given the new revelation that Elon Musk is using bots to mine AO3 fanfiction for a writing AI without writer's permission, my works are now archive-locked and only available for people with an AO3 account.

what the fuck.

to archive lock multiple works at once:

go to your dashboard then “works”

click the “edit works” button

select all the works you want to lock

click on the “edit” button

scroll down to “visibility” and select “only show to registered users”

then “update all works”

this will hide your works from anyone without an archive of our own account

Okay, you need to make sure you play this game at some point. Maybe not today or anything, because you’ll need about thirty minutes and a serious willingness to understand how it works, but - it’s so worth it. It’s basically an answer to our occasional frustration - why do assholes always come out on top? - and the beautiful thing about it is that not only does it explain how that happens, but also how we can change it.

“In the short run, the game defines the players. But in the long run, it’s us players who define the game.”

This is fascinating if you’re into math or sociology or computer programming or all of the above.

Everyone, everywhere, without exception, should play this thing through.

Don’t check just this - check out all of Nicky Case’s work. They’re a brilliant creator and I heavily recommend checking out at least one of their projects.  Their website can be found here.

Parable of the Polygons - an interactive experiment that shows how tiny individual biases can collectively cause segregation on a massive scale.

To Build a Better Ballot - an interactive experiment that shows the alternatives to the voting systems we currently use and how they can be more representative and democratic, along with their faults.

Coming Out Simulator - a short interactive story/novel about coming out, based off of Case’s own experiences. Not one I’ve played myself but still one I can recommend.

Loopy - a very simple but useful tool to show how systems interact with each other and how things can self-propagate.

We Become What We Behold - “ a game about news cycles, vicious cycles, infinite cycles.“ A short five-minute game about news and media. Warnings for violence, blood, death and stress.

OH MY GOD THIS IS FRICKING AMAIZNG WOW WOW WOW WOW YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YES INTELLECT

Werewolves and werewolves only! It’s OKAY for you to be a massive dominant werewolf! It’s OKAY for you to hunt me down on the full moon! It’s OKAY for you to knot me and fill me with your cum over and over again.
