🧠 CRANIAL NERVES 🧠
Cranial nerves originate in the brain and are responsible for various functions in the head, neck, and other parts of the body. There are 12 cranial nerves, and each is categorized as sensory, motor, or both. ⭐️ Memory Trick: “On occasion our trusty truck acts funny very good vehicle any how” for the nerves. “Some say marry money, but my brother says big brains matter most” for their functions!
Thrombocytopenia is a condition where the patient has an abnormally low platelet count in the blood, which increases the risk of bleeding.  ✅Normal Platelet Range: 150,000-450,000
 ➡️ Platelets are formed in the bone marrow, and about 1/3 are stored in the spleen.  🩸 Platelets help with blood clotting to stop bleeding  Causes:
→ Impaired Platelet Production: viral infections (HIV, hepatitis), folate/B12 deficiencies, aplastic anemia
→ Increased Platelet Destruction: DIC, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT)
→ Impaired Platelet Distribution: liver cirrhosis, splenomegaly  Symptoms:
→ Easy bruising
→ Bleeding from gums, mouth, nose
→ Oozing from IV sites
→ Prolonged bleeding times
→ Petechiae (<3mm) and purpura (>4mm)
