Wetting the surface provides an ideal base for painting, particularly on larger canvases. Step 2: Apply Watered Down Acrylic Underpainting Take it a step further by mixing a color with water. Apply this mixture evenly across the entire surface to create an underpainting. Step 3: Work into the Canvas to Saturate Work the watered-down acrylic into the canvas to saturate the fabric. This step is crucial, especially if you don’t gesso your canvas (I personally don’t). By following these three steps, you can apply and blend base colors effortlessly. Abby K Brown on Instagram: "Don’t paint on a white canvas!

When you prep your canvas with your favorite color, you will find that your painting will become more dynamic and interesting. And you won’t be combating that white canvas that will come through the entire painting.

Paint your canvas your favorite color. Any color you want! This is called toning your canvas or an under painting. There will be tiny bits of that color shining through your painting once your finished and it will make all the colors look more cohesive- like the have a relationship with each other.

I like a pink canvas because it gives my painting a warm glow. I like seeing little bits of pink coming through at the end. It’s like a treat for the eyes.

You can dictate the mood of a painting just by the color you p Prepping Canvas For Acrylic, Easy Oil Painting, Ali Kay, Under Painting, Pink Canvas, End It, Learn To Paint, May 21, White Canvas

Victoria Barnhill on Instagram: "✨That 2nd clip 😍 The fluorescent color popping through is so satisfying! I love showing the full paint spreading videos, uncut and unedited, and in real time. My painting process is very relaxed and it’s in these clip that I get to share my painting mood & mindset with you all. On this piece I’m using a combination of bright colors for the base of this new tropical landscape painting. I’m using the biggest palette knife I own (basically a cake server) to spread the paint. I also added some fluorescents to the regular colors to add a pop of brightness, which is what I typically do for my tropical pieces. Stay tuned to see what this background becomes! 🌴 . . . . . #artprocess #painting #art #artworks #abstractart #abstractpainting #painter #acrylicpainti Victoria Barnhill Art, Tropical Landscape Painting, Fluorescent Painting, Asmr Aesthetic, Painting Mood, Color Combinations Paint, Palette Knife Art, Tropical Landscape, Canvas Drawings
