An antique Swedish Gustavian chest made of hand crafted painted Oakwood, in good condition. The Scandinavian commode is composed with a white-grey marble top and three drawers, consisting its original metal hardware and keys. The front of the drawers contains cut corners with fluted carvings and tapered legs. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1820, Stockholm, Sweden, Scandinavia.

I got this piece because i saw all the potential in it. ALL THAT DETAIL... I started by Cleaning this piece! ALWAYS PREP. no matter what you are using. Then I painted it in 2 coats of Annie Sloan Old White. I then added a wash of Shabby Paints Buffalo Brown over the entire piece. Then i added a light layer of Annie Sloan Provence The wash allows the color to stay in the grooves... and really gives it some depth.
