😀People often wonder how I kickstarted my art career and managed to keep it going strong for so many years. 🖌️Flashback to a decade ago: I started on the journey of assembling an illustration portfolio after dedicating eight years to being a stay-at-home mum. During this time, I meditated on my dream lifestyle, envisioning what success meant to me. Food and travel stood out during those soul-searching sessions. 🍎The food illustration part clicked almost effortlessly. As for “travel,” my br... A little look in my sketchbook! The first two I made today, but the others are from some other days. They're some experiments where I tried to add more colour than just lineart and I'm struggling to get it to look the way I want, but thought I'd share them anyway hehe!! I kinda hate parts of them but that's ok!! (Although I have to keep telling myself that - I get so upset whenever my sketchbook spreads don't turn out like I want them to!) #sketchbook #sketchbooktour #doodles First Sketchbook Page, Crayon Doodles, Sketchbook Spreads, Illustration Process, Sketchbook Tour, My Sketchbook, Journal Inspo, Sketchbook Pages, Doodle Art Designs

Have you ever started a sketchbook, only to give to after a few pages, weeks or months? We give up for different reasons (perfectionism, a deadline at work, an illness- honestly all these reasons are good ones- it’s hard to keep a habit going) And if so, do you want to try again, and maintain your practice this time? This is an open-ended class for everyone who want to start a sketchbook practice - I cover my techniques, materials, and, most importantly- what to do to make sure you maintain your habit regardless of how much life can throw at you. Liz M Clarke on Instagram: "my sketchbooks and me 💞 (a video for those who asked to see a closer look at them 🥰)

I’ve always been one to keep a sketchbook - all throughout school, college and my time at uni, I remember some hating having to do it - but I relished having a place to put all my thoughts and ideas!

These days I have a couple of different ones kicking about - one for my very very messy and initial sketches, one with straight colour paint swatches and then the one you often see in the background of my videos/photos 😂 which is mainly used to organise and keep track of colour palettes I’m using/wanting to use for pieces - with notes on how I mixed each custom colour in case I need to revisit.
I always find new inspiration from it every time I flick through too, because I re The Sketchbook, Who Asked, Paint Swatches, Colour Palettes, My Thoughts, School College, Always Be, Custom Color, Paint Colors
