Hudson’s Mom //🤰🏼& Baby Advice on Instagram: "My most clicked on pin on @pinterest is for my blog post for how to do the pitcher method.

The key is to make sure to not mix different temperatures of milk and keep track of the pump date.

Here’s how I do the pitcher method.
🥛 designate one container as your “pitcher”. I love these glass jars (link on my blog)
🥛 refrigerate your milk in a separate container after a pump
🥛 once your fresh pump is chilled to the same temperature, combine into your pitcher
🥛 repeat

I use a white erase marker to mark the oldest date to make sure that I refresh my pitcher or bag to freeze before it’s been too many days (CDC guideline is currently 4 days)

I have found this to be the easiest way to thaw my frozen breastmilk and I go through my freezer stash!

A lot of my freezer bags have tears in them, so they leak as they melt. Putting the frozen milk directly into a pitcher to thaw has made it so much easier and I no longer have to worry about leaking bags!

I am currently only thawing a couple of bags at a time because I am still breastfeeding. I mix thawed and fresh milk throughout the day to feed to my little one 🤍

Let me know if you use the pitcher method! (It can also be used for formula and freshly pumped milk!)

🍼I have high lipase milk, check out my videos on how I’m dealing with that🍼

Or do you want to distribute nutrients from multiple pump sessions? For example, if I used my haaka in the morning and collected 1 oz of very watery, almost clear looking breast milk but later in the day, had a pump session 3.5 oz (fatty looking milk)- I could combine both of them to ensure equal nutrients! And I present to you: The Pitcher Method✨ 💧For breastfeeding/pumping moms: - You can add your milk from each pumping or haaka session throughout your day or multiple days (whatever you are comfortable with!) - I use a pitcher to combine and mix my milk when home (left in fridge) and I u Pumping Pitcher Method, Pitcher Method Breastmilk, Pitcher Method, Power Pumping, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Breastfeeding Mom, Pediatric Nurse, Pumping Moms, Work Schedule
