Along with the framed canvas and some lavender we're going to make a really beautiful gift. I started by removing the canvas from the frame. So we're doing a reverse canvas technique. This is really fun because you can use the wood frame inside of the canvas to actually make a framed canvas. You're just going to take a nice sharp utility knife cut all the way around the and then the canvas which is wrapping around the frame will come right off. So you'll want to just set aside that canvas for a little bit because we are going to use it. And what you're left with now is this lovely wood frame that you can paint or stain. I'm just using a brown wax to add a bit of brown tone to the frame. And so I painted that brush that all the way around. And then used a bit of a rag to wipe off the excess. Another way to this is to mix a little bit of brown acrylic paint about half and half with some water to create what we call a faux wood stain and I've done that on a number of crafts before I'll be sure to length them and that works out really well if you don't have a brown wax now it's time to bring back the canvas and we're going to dress it up a bit and give it a bit of texture. I just took some white tissue paper. This is that type that you use to wrap gifts and crinkled it up to create all this wrinkled texture. I coated the canvas with some Mod Podge. Spread that out in a nice even coat and then placed the crinkled up tissue right on top. Um pressing it down but not too much because I did want to still keep some of that wrinkly effect. We could have left the white tissue as it was but I decided to mix up a little bit of light purple paint to coordinate with the lavender that we're going to be adding to the craft. I dry brush that over the surface of the tissue paper that's mounted onto the canvas. So you can see I didn't do full force of the paint just enough to give a little bit of you know it kind of accentuates accentuates that wrinkle texture and adds a bit of colour. Once we were happy with that backdrop I remounted the canvas onto the frame with my hot glue gun. So I put a generous amount of glue all the way around and then pressed that right down onto my canvas surface. I used some sharp scissors and trimmed away the excess all the way around to give it a nice clean finish. So this here is what's known as the reverse canvas method because you're really flipping the canvas around and using the frame and the canvas in a different way. So now back to that bottle cap. I glued that onto the centre of my new framed canvas and then added on a little of lavender. This is dried lavender from my mom's garden that I had picked a couple seasons before and I have this still stored in just a box in my home. So whenever I do a lavender craft I pull some out. And I just bundled a little cluster together. Trimmed it and then glued that right into that bottle cap. And of course this farmhouse inspired craft and needed a bit of a burlap bow with some lace. So I think I found this ribbon at the Dollar Tree as well. Or maybe the Dollarama. I can't remember. But anyways I created a simple bow and then added on this lovely pearl and diamond jewel that came from Amazon and finally just filled it in with a little bit more of the lavender to make it look a tad fuller. But that's it. That's our beautiful reverse canvas lavender sign with some Dollar Tree materials. I think this makes a great gift for a teacher a hostess gift. I hope you enjoyed this craft and that you'll like and subscribe for more simple DIY ideas. Happy crafting.

15K views · 704 reactions | Let's craft using Dollar Tree Peel-N-Stick Wallpaper! | Let's craft using Dollar Tree Peel-N-Stick Wallpaper! 🌼 | By DIY Beauty On Purpose | Year round you can find these wallpapers at Dollar Tree. They have beautiful designs. They're great for wallpapering but they're really good for crafting. For this first Dollar Tree DIY craft, we're going to start with a wood round and one of these decals that you can also find at Dollar Tree year round. We're going to take the decal, we're just going to dry fit it right in the center and then we're going to tape off that middle section because I want to paint that middle section white. This is where the decal's going to go and I want that to be in the background. So, I'm just going to give it one simple coat of chalk paint and this is rhinestone chalk paint and the linen white. Once it was completely painted, I'm just going to remove the tape of course and I am going to use my heating tool to quickly dry it. This is a great tool to have if you just want to do some things quickly but anyways, I'm just going to dry it and then it's time to just sand it down just a little bit. Um if you use chalk paint, you know what I'm talking about. It could be a little rough to the touch but no big deal. Little light sand smooths it out and I did sand everywhere else as well. Here's the first wallpaper we're going to use. It has a beautiful brick design and it is such an easy thing to use. You just basically peel and stick. I'm going to fold it in half long ways and we're going to cut it. This is what we're going to use to cover the top and the bottom of the wood round. We're going to move the bag so easy just like a sticker and then we're going to cover again that top and bottom with it. Once it was nicely attached, I'm going to use an Xacto knife to remove the excess paper. You can also sand it down. Now, I decided to remove it with an Xacto knife first and then once that second one was done and over with, I am going to use my sanding block to remove any excess small little portion of the paper remaining. This also allows it to have a very smooth edge without it fraying on you. Now, we're going to move on to the decal and this is a beautiful clear decal. We're going to remove it. Again, peel and stick it right there in the center. Doesn't it look gorgeous with that brick design? Oh my gosh, I love this wood round. Alright, so now we're just going to make sure that that decals nicely attached and we're going to add some greenery. We're going to keep it pretty simple. I found this greenery. I believe it was at the store at home and then I've been using it for years now. I keep pulling from it. Now, I took this little vine style one and I'm just going to attach another smaller one on top and I'm going to drape it towards the right side of the wood round. I'm going to make a couple of marks and drill a couple of holes. This is because I want to attach it by tying it with jute rope. We could also hot glue it but I just felt it was just so much easier to just tie it. I did add a little bit of hot glue eventually but tying in the back really help it to just really be secure. I tied it in the back with a simple knot cut off the excess and then we're going to add this beautiful sunflower just a pop of yellow color really compliments the design of the decal. We're going to remove the stem, add some hot glue, and just print it there. Right where everything kind of meets and that's about it. What a gorgeous design. Such an easy way to update this wood round. Love the wallpaper. Love the decal. What do you think? Let me know.
