1800 to 1809 Early Regency

Bodices end under the bust and necklines are low with long or short sleeves and a fiddle-back bodice. Use tiny piping to finish seams. Dresses generally opened in the front, with pins or drawstrings as the closures, while the skirts of the dresses had side openings, if at all. White was a popular color and trimming was used sparingly. Fabrics are lightweight, with embroidery and details that did not interrupt the aesthetic flow. Outerwear consisted of Spencer jackets, pelisses, and a long shawl.
