İkinci dil edinimi (SLA second language acquisition), ikinci dil öğrenimi veya L2 (Language/Dil 2) edinimi, insanların ikinci bir dili öğrenme sürecidir. İkinci dil edinimi aynı zamanda bu süreci incelemeye adanmış bilimsel disiplindir. İkinci dil edinimi alanı, uygulamalı dilbilimin bir alt disiplinidir, ancak aynı zamanda psikoloji ve eğitim gibi çeşitli diğer disiplinlerden araştırma ilgisini çekmektedir.


SLA araştırmasının ana temalarından biri, diller arasıdır; öğrencilerin kullandığı dil, sadece zaten bildikleri diller ile öğrendikleri dil arasındaki farklılıkların bir sonucu değil, aynı zamanda tam bir dil sistemi olmasıdır. kendi sistematik kuralları ile kendi hakkı.
