Michael Serra
Michael Serra studies aspects of student learning including multimedia learning (learning from information presented both visually and verbally at the same time) and metacognition (thinking about and acting upon other thought processes). He earned his PhD at Kent State University under John Dunlosky and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Columbia University under Janet Metcalfe. He teaches both undergraduate classes (e.g., Cognition, Research Methods) and graduate classes (e.g., Metacognition, Seminar on Teaching). He is also the General Psychology faculty supervisor. In his spare time, he likes to cook and play video games.
