very dear headcanon of mine that i'm sure i've alluded to before but since the swatchlings are essentially big walking mood rings i like to think that while swatch doesn't as drastically change color depending on their mood or what temperature they've got on their mind, the undertone of their feathers does. which compliments their "partners" nicely because spamton – who wears red when he's not cribbing their look – always heats them up and being around queen – who wears blue – always cools them off.

no see that's exactly the kind of asks i like! i tend to flounder when it comes to long multi-paragraph asks that detail someone's own theory, not because those thoughts are bad or because i don't like hearing them, but because i personally feel i don't quite know how to respond beyond "i don't agree with that theory!" or "that's interesting, i could see it!" anyways all this to say i think swatch's favorite color is probably #F8BFA8.
like he resents them for being blessed when he isn't and he thinks he should have what they have and he thinks they should've been shown what-for and he'll be happy to let the whole city freeze over so he can be the one who made it out. but that is all packaged up in his need to be a big shot again and thus he wants them again, too, in some abstract sense. he wants the time back where they would gossip about how such-and-such addisons' shop was nothing but overpriced trash; the aimless drives through the city where spamton would keep trying to find a highway exit that would never appear; the evenings leaned drunken over the color café bar where they would look down on him for his lack of decorum and he would just laugh and memorize the annoyed furrow of their brow; the sensation of their hand running through his hair as they tell him how disgusting it is to use quite as much product in it as he does. he wants to bask in knowing again that he'd gotten his feet in where he shouldn't have been able to, and in knowing that swatch resented him for it, and that swatch resented him for praying to what spurned creation they'd been vector for to keep it that way. it isn't love, but more a sense that maybe he still wants to keep swatch in the diorama of his memory. maybe they're still living there, the vibrant light of the city reflected in their glasses.
this is such a late-night crack idea that i'm not even going to call it a "theory", but wouldn't it be fun if canon tenna is like. a wizard of oz situation where they talk to you on screens throughout the city using the giant cgi face we see in the trailer. but when you actually get to their hq and meet them in person they're actually this pathetic little scam-artist of a darkner.
i don't quite have the words for what i've been thinking about re; seam and the way they and the shadow crystals could be incorporated as topics in a potential ch4 church dark world, especially if ch4 is the point when the story will begin to more directly examine the lightners' position as gods to the darkners (and perhaps too our position as gods to the lightners). so instead i will offer to you A Collection Of Screenshots.

also obligatory "withholding my judgement on the supposed switch border design leak until we see it more officially, because it includes the sneaking section and as far as we know that was cut, (and also fake leaks are rampant around here,) announcement.
real or not however i do think the idea of tenna in a UPA style is very cute. if it is a fake, i'd encourage the leaker to just make them an oc instead of trying to pretend to be toby fox (which he has gently spoken against doing), since i think the design would get attention on its own plenty without that extra traction. if it's actually legit, though, as it appears to come from a more credible source, i think there's a lot of fun stuff toby could do with an homage to that era of cartoons, so it'd still be an upside for me. i'll have to wait and see!
