Therefore, the present paper seeks to investigate the propensity of Millennials to recommend their preferred fitness center, depending on their psychological condition (i.e., introversion versus extraversion), which may lead to their tendency to practice and to their involvement and satisfaction with the fitness center. The authors deduce a conceptual model from the literature, which is further analyzed with data collected through an empirical investigation based on a face-to-face administered questionnaire. Data gathered from 2138 Millennials are investigated with the help of structural equation modeling using SmartPLS. The results show that a positive image of a fitness center stimulates the satisfaction of extravert and introvert consumers. Millennials have different personality types, such as extraversion and introversion, that influence their propensity to practice fitness and to recommend their favorite fitness center. It can be concluded that not only extraversion but also introversion influence consumers' satisfaction, positively impacting the consumer's intention to recommend their favorite fitness center to peers.

We conclude how dependent Romanians' are on mobile phones, they willing to buy the latest technical innovations, very few being those who prefer classic phones. It is surprising that in a civilized society there are still consumers who throw used mobile phones in the trash, without being aware of the danger of this gesture on the environment. It is needed the involvement of the government and of various civic organizations to increase the education level of the population, to have a more sustainable environmental behavior.

For this purpose, we have conducted a descriptive, transversal market research which focused on a target group of 140 undergraduate/graduate students studying Accounting and 220 employers. The conclusion of the research was that, in order to achieve a successful career in accounting, undergraduate/graduate students should posses a set of strong transversal competences to complement the professional competences acquired and tested throughout the undergraduate and graduate university programs. So that professional accountants can act as creators, mediators, keepers and reporters of sustainable value for the purpose of supporting the organization, the competences they partially acquired during the qualification and training activities will need to be constantly developed and improved throughout their entire career. Therefore, most of the individuals involved in our research believe that acquiring the membership of CECCAR by the Accountancy graduates can lead to a constant improvement of the competences required on the labor market and also to a successful career.

The research aims to identify the factors that influence the sustainable behaviour of the Romanian consumer of electrical and electronic products. In this sense, the ecological attitude, the purchasing behaviour of these goods, and also the recovery/recycling attitude of electrical and electronic waste were taken into account. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 421 Romanian respondents and processed with the lavaan software package version 0.6-12 of R for structural equation modelling. The novelty of the article lies in how variables such as propensity to recover/recycle, tendency of purchasing durable goods, ecological behaviour, are put in a new context, combining environmental and consumers' protection. The research makes theoretical contributions by proposing and testing specific consumer protection constructs, which do not appear in the literature. From the environmental public policies point of view, the work highlights the factors that can contribute to the development of a responsible behaviour of both the population and public authorities, to stimulate the purchase of sustainable goods, and to ensure an increase in the collection rate of electrical and electronic products in Romania.

It is the interest of the manufacturers and retailers to make as many consumers as possible aware of their products or services. But, it is important to ensure that ads meet certain standards, particularly relating legal and ethical requirements, because consumers do not always have sufficient knowledge to decipher the messages in advertising, to detect the exaggerations or the possible frauds. They, therefore, need to be protected from the incorrect or misleading ads. Advertising can encourage the people to over- consume, which is bad for the consumers ’ wallet, for the environment and for the sustainable development. But, if the deceptive and subliminal advertising may harm the security of the children, it means that urgent measures must be taken to protect this special social class.

Conventional management must be focused on long term sustainability. Alternative forms of agriculture must be sustained by authorities, communities, ideas, social behaviours and adequate lifestyles. Culture can contribute to the paradigm shift, from the conventional one to the alternative sustainable one. Culture can trigger awareness, can offer discussion subjects, can provide legitimacy and can create new oportunities in ways that enable sustainability to dominate agriculture.

That way, this concept received politic valences too, in the globalization context. Sustainable development has as background the finding that, the human civilization is a component of the ecosphere, dependent on the raw material and energy flows existent within it, on its stability and self-regulation capacity. The public policies elaborated on this basis aims to reset and maintain an rational long run equilibrium, between economic development and the integrity of the environment. Sustainable transportation concerns systems, policies, and technologies. It aims for the efficient transit of goods and services, and for the sustainable freight and delivery systems. Sustainable transport (or green transport) is a concept, an ideology and -in some countries -a governmental policy, that consists of strengthening or replacing the current transpo...

The success of such platforms among consumers depends on various factors, such as satisfaction and platform credibility, and on sustainable performance among contributors, increasing their relevance and visibility. This research proposes a conceptual model for measuring the success of sharing economy platforms in tourism, based on added value, unique experience, and enhanced social interactions, together with credibility and sustainable performance. In this vein, the authors conduct an empirical investigation in an emerging market—Romania—where the development of such sharing economy platforms is still in its infancy. Data gathered by the authors by means of a self-developed questionnaire distributed to 500 respondents are modelled via s...

The paper analyses the Romanian population’s behaviour regarding immunization against flu, from the consumer protection point of view. In the international literature there are studies regarding the efficacy and effectiveness of influenza vaccines from a medical point of view, not from the consumer protection or consumer behaviour perspective. We are interested in identifying the profile of the Romanian consumers in terms of accepting or not flu immunization, the perception of the consumer concerning flu shot safety and the main factors which determine the consumer’s behaviour. In this context, we started our study using as background the following: the history of influenza and vaccination, a market research in Romania and abroad, and some controversies regarding the efficiency and safety of flu shot (the pro...

In tourism, such platforms are being increasingly used; however, analysis of consumers’ behavior toward such platforms in the context of technological innovation since the COVID-19 pandemic is almost non-existent. The aim of the present research is to fill this gap by studying, with the aid of structural equations, factors that influence the attitudes and behavior of consumers of tourist services offered through sharing economy platforms. Under the impact of the adoption of new technologies, the perceived value generated by these platforms is considered in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Trust in tourism sharing economy platforms and their perceived value is determined by consumers’ experience of using them, the authenticity of platforms, propensity toward technological innovation, and users’ demand for novelty. Data collected from 548 respondents were modeled using structural equations in SmartPLS. Results show th...

The major problem faced by all European regions is the high level of long-term unemployment, interregional disparities in this respect being obvious. The many (negative) effects that unemployment generates- both for society and for individuals- fully justify the concerns of the world governments regarding both this reality and the continuous concern for finding solutions on employment at the highest level possible. These are the reasons why, this paper analyzes the issue of regional disparities of unemployment, in the EU countries, focusing on Romanian regions, using statistical data relevant for this purpose.
