Despite vague definition of the 'quality' term by each individual, this study takes a step in determining the customer's significant quality attributes towards the overall food quality dimensions. The findings of the study indicated that generally Malaysian consumers place relatively high level of importance on food freshness, followed by presentation and taste of the food. However, less importance is being placed on innovative food that indirectly could have minimal effect in the customers' behavioral intention towards fast food products. Customers are seen more interested in the output' (which is the end product) rather than 'input' (which is raw materials used in producing the foods) of food. Hence, this study is expected to contribute to the existing knowledge on the dimension of consumer purchase intention to the industry players, as well as academicians. Future research should focus on the similar study with the extended scope to other fast food restaurants in Malaysia. By doing this, hopefully we can get a clearer picture on the existing as well as explore new variables which can further contribute to the topic of the study.

A qualitative methodology has been used to investigate the role of kaizen and its effect through a semi-structured interview Japanese owned companies (JOC) in manufacturing sector. The study found that kaizen is perceived by the top management of the JOC organisations to be critically important to maintain its competitive position. The findings also suggest that kaizen application is not dependent on having the Japanese social-oriented values. Most importantly, the study finds that kaizen could strive and be deployed strategically in the Malaysian cultural work place to build organisational dynamic capabilities. Many advantages could be obtained from the predicated of the people's efforts in kaizen which often requires behavioural change in application including underscore the transformation of management. Kaizen uniqueness is in its unrelenting continuous development of people's competences, ideas management and never ending operational process improvement. This uniqueness can be very effective as the firms' internal resource to complementing the RBV strategic framework.

Artificial Intelligent System for the Malaysian MODENAS Production System
ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligent (AI) system in the production process is essential to ensure the ... more ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligent (AI) system in the production process is essential to ensure the overall achievement of the targeted Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD). A good AI system is one that can promote an effective and relatively inexpensive way of reducing manufacturing defects and increase the quality of output. Mistakes happen in organizations for many reasons, but almost all of them can be prevented, if people make the effort to identify when problems happen, define root causes, and then take the proper corrective actions. The objective is to prevent, or at least, detect and weed out defects, as early as possible in the process. However, it will be the best to eliminate the source of problem forever and not just prevent it from occurring. "Prevention is always better than cure". This study focus on the categories of Poka-Yoke devices which is prevention and detection as well as method used in Poka-yoke system, Contact Method, Fixed-Value Method and Motion Step Method. The success rate of a process can be vastly improved if self-checks, successive checks and intelligent systems (Poka-yoke) all work together and that will need an atmosphere of continuous improvement which will ultimately lead to reliable products, satisfied customers and empowered workers. In making the Poka-yoke system successful, Poka-yoke devices maintenance must be well taken care so that they could functions efficiently and effectively.

Third party logistics orchestrator role in reverse logistics and closed-loop supply chains

RL and CLSCs are the latest emerging concept that can help firms to achieve their sustainability objectives. Firms with or without RL and CLSCs capabilities may outsource several or full activities from the 3PLs. Nonetheless, firms are still facing limited service coverage from 3PLs and that are forcing them to source the service from other multiple service providers. Through role changes as a service 'orchestrator', appropriate full services with the best practices at the maximum efficiencies in RL and CLSCs are expected to be served to customers. Customers on the other hand can reap the benefits by having to deal its supply chain as a single entity so that the focus of building the efficiency will be much easier and effective.

Each religion teaches its followers to consume healthy food in their daily lives. Organic food is commonly known for its healthier content without the use of pesticides, herbicides, inorganic fertilizers, antibiotics and growth hormones. To a certain extent organic food is directly related to Halal, a preconditioned to the Muslim to consume certain permitted foods and preparation, consistent with the Shariah requirements. However, not every consumer view such circumstances as important though being encouraged by their religion to consume such food in a way promoted by the organic foods. The research aims to identify the religious factor and its impact towards the customer purchase intention in Malaysia. The findings of the study indicated that religious factor was found to have less impact on customer purchase intention of organic food. This is because the consumers could be looking on other vast factors such as perceived value and health consciousness in deciding to purchase organic food products. They may perceive that the existing conventional foods are perfectly matched with organic food and the consumers are fully confident that the foods are prepared in a way permitted by their religion. The result has shown some differences with the previous literature which described that religious factor plays one of the most influential roles in shaping food choice in certain countries of the world. Hence, this study is expected to provide understanding to both the industry players as well as academicians on the factors that influence Malaysian customer purchase intention towards organic food products as such phenomena might be different from 97 one country to another. Future research should focus on a similar study with the extended scope to all states in Malaysia so that the findings could be compared and generalized to the entire population in Malaysia

Barriers to product returns and recovery management in a developing country: investigation using multiple methods
Journal of Cleaner Production, 2014

This is important as organizations can no longer ignore or accumulate returns at the back of the warehouse. This paper identifies the barriers that impede PRRM among manufacturing firms in Malaysia, and provide useful summary data and analysis to entice firms to consider adopting PPRM. This study reviewed 38 journal articles, which were subsequently validated through field interviews using multiple case study method. The content analysis reveals that the two major obstacles are financial and resource constraints, which fall within the category of internal barriers. However, the results of the interviews with six manufacturers in Malaysia indicate that external barriers are the main obstacles that hinder the adoption of PRRM, thus suggesting that there may be a subtle difference between the results reported in academic research and managers' perceptions of the barriers of product returns and recovery management. The external barriers, such as customers' operational performance and perception, are perceived by managers to be detrimental to the adoption of PRRM, which is contradictory to the academic findings. In addition, financial and resource constraints impede the adoption of PRRM. This suggests that further study should be conducted by expanding the sample size to continue to empirically explore the barriers of PRRM. This study helps policy makers in emerging countries in general and Malaysia, in particular, in setting appropriate policies and strategies to improve product returns and recovery of manufacturing firms.

Career success is viewed as comprising two components; an objective career success and a subjective career success. Knowledge of career success helps individuals developed appropriate strategies for career development, whereas, at the organization levels, knowledge of the career success helps a manager to design and implement effective career systems. It was discovered that both dimensions of human capital (work experience and job position) were not significant to subjective career success (career satisfaction). Perhaps, there might be some reasons that can best explain on such phenomena that cause low career satisfaction, which is unarguably best known to the academician themselves. Future research should focus on the investigation into the causes which can possibly draw a full picture of the overall situations in the scope of research in career success.
