Linde has been awarded $10 million by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to lead the demonstration of cost-effective, standardized, and replicable advanced hydrogen fueling infrastructure for heavy-duty trucks in La Porte, Texas. The hydrogen refueling station (HRS) will offer high fueling throughput with convenient and accessible fueling options to businesses and transportation fleets in the region, as well as tube trailer filling to enable supply chain development in the Gulf Coast region. The HRS will be located in the heart of Linde’s robust hydrogen pipeline complex that supplies over 1 billion cubic feet per day of hydrogen to the area, enabling access to reliable and low-cost feedstock. The funding is part of DOE’s efforts to advance the National Clean Hydrogen Strategy to accelerate the research, development, demonstration, and deployment of next-generation clean hydrogen technologies. #Hydrogen #CleanEnergy

Our OPTIMELT® Thermochemical Regenerator technology recovers waste energy from glass furnace flue gas to preheat and reform natural gas feed, reducing fuel consumption by 20% to 30% compared to oxy-fuel and air-fuel furnaces. Team Linde once again rose to the challenge at the 29th annual Ride for Roswell. Forty-seven riders represented Team Linde and nearly 80 employees, friends and family volunteered to help make this one of the largest charity cycling events in North America. As a “Big Wheel” sponsor of the Ride, Team Linde raised $55,520 for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, including a sponsorship grant from Linde’s Global Giving program. A record $7,200 was raised at the annual hot dog lunch and basket raffle! All donor support helps to fund innovative cancer research programs and services that enhance the quality of a patient’s life at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Recently we shared news of the groundbreaking H2RF project at Gerdau Special Steel, which implements our REBOX flameless oxyfuel technology in the latest step toward decarbonizing the steelmaking industry on a large scale. We developed REBOX flameless oxyfuel technology over 20 years ago to significantly boost furnace efficiency, and we have continued to innovate. Since 2003, we have demonstrated the technology in both batch and continuous furnaces. Use of hydrogen as a fuel is already in operation in batch reheating, and we are now proud to demonstrate its implementation in a large-scale continuous reheating furnace.
