Amy Powers on Instagram: "Make sure to pot up your amaryllis in soil immediately after the flowers fade. Apply round of indoor house plant fertilizer, put them in a sunny window and water when the top inch of soil dries out. By the middle of August, the bulb will have enough food stored to create a flower, but the plant will not bloom until it goes through a minimum 10 week dormant period. A dormant period means a cool dark location and stop watering. The leaves will die back. After 10 weeks you can bring the plant back out of dormancy and it will bloom in another 4 to 6 weeks. You can let the dormant period go longer than 10 weeks. I am a garden coach in the Chicagoland area. I do garden coaching sessions from March until October each year. We used @easihold rock and mulch binder and the application was super easy! #ad There are different ways you can apply the glue. We just used a watering can, it was such a quick easy process. The binder is also water based, non toxic and permeable. We actually just had a terrible storm here and my stones are still in place! No more loose stones. If you’d like to try this product I’ve added the link to my bio💫 #gardenhacks #rockglue #easihold #gardenideas #gardenrocks #garden #patio #backyard #backyardmakeover"

Patti Rother | Enchanted Gardens CO on Instagram: "DIY Ollas for Your Garden Looking for an efficient and cost-effective way to keep your garden hydrated? Let me introduce you to traditional ollas, which I’ve DIYed myself for less than $10! These ancient watering vessels are not only easy to make but also incredibly effective, especially for those areas in the garden you might forget to water—like my back pumpkin arch! A Little History on Ollas: Ollas have been used for thousands of years, originating from North Africa, China, and Latin America. These clay pots are buried in the soil and slowly release water directly to the plant roots, promoting deep and efficient watering. This method reduces water waste and is perfect for gardens without an irrigation system. Why Ollas? •Cost
