This fabric still makes my mouth water. As I mentioned in my post from this morning, JoAnn Fabrics had their irons on sale for 25% off and I had a coupon for 25% off of my total purchase. I spent enough on my total purchase that I saved $71 and the retail price of the iron was only $65......any way I look at that it looks like a free iron! My previous Rowenta, which was about 20 years old, finally died. I had a spare Sunbeam iron that I really wanted to be able to use but it just was too…

Free Quilt Pattern (link): Advice on where to find a template for making your own "jar quilt" (whether for bugs or fruit or any other collections) from user "goosepoint" on www.quiltingboard.com (28 Aug. 2011). There's also guidance for creating the crates and basket of potatoes. The author gives two links from about.com. The first links to instructions for 12-inch and 6-inch finished blocks; the second makes rectangular blocks, 8x12 inches. Hi Everyone, I'm back from my four day retreat and it was wonderful! As I was driving down to it I though that many people (those who don't quilt, etc.) would consider that four days of nothing but sewing just may be their idea of hell, but for all of us, we know it is paradise! The retreat was across the water in Norfolk. Some of you are familiar with this area, but for the rest of you--we have to cross a bridge to get down to Norfolk/Virginia Beach, and further like the Outer Banks, etc…

Amy over at Amy's Creative Side is putting on the Bloggers Festival again. This is a fun way to see a lot of beautiful quilts without leaving the comfort of your easy chair. I decided to participate again and chose a quilt I finished ten years ago. I've been noticing a lot of people are doing "jar quilts" again and wanted to show mine made way back then. I even left one jar "open" with a fly trying to get in it. When this pattern first came out, everyone on the internet jumped on the idea of…
