Miss Phyllis Monkman : Actress, dancer and singer. She began as a teenager, achieving success in Butterflies (1908). After many appearances in revues, notably Bubbly (1917), and Tails Up! (1918).  Monkman was one of the founders in 1921 of the 'Co-Optimists' 'pierrotic' concert party, in which she appeared on and off for several years with her husband, Laddie Cliff. Noël Coward cast her in his musical play Operette (1938), and Ivor Novello wrote a part for her in The Sunshine Sisters (1933).
