If you try this IKEA hack and make it through the first part, the rest is really simple and straightforward. After sanding, I painted the outside of the cabinet, using leftover paint I had from my daughter’s bedroom makeover. The color I used is Sherwin-Williams Gallery Green. While it dried, I taped around the glass opening of the IKEA Oxberg Door I planned to add to the cabinet and started painting it. I added the legs (I will link them in stories) to the bottom of the cabinet and painted them as well. Never settle for wonky or misaligned IKEA OXBERG doors again! I know these IKEA hinges can seem confusing so here’s a quick video to hopefully de-mystify them.

1. To bring the doors together to remove a gap (or move them apart if they are too close to shut properly) loosen the screw in the centre as shown and screw the adjacent one in as this will push the hinge away from the door, closing the gap. These screws work as a pair so don’t forget step 1.

2. To move the doors up or down loosen the main screws and adjust the door height until perfect then tighten again.

3.
