It's #NationalCheeseburgerDay. Best #wine pairing? #Rootstock #Cheeseburger #RedWine. http://ow.ly/SotPH This wine was inspired by the illustrious cheeseburger. It's the all American food that's simple yet inspiring, full of flavor, and a symbol of summertime, grilling, and family. We were introduced to "Cheeseburger Sunday" by Jack, a family friend, and we adopted that tradition 20 years ago. After all, shouldn't cheeseburgers have a specific day of the week devoted to them?
Great #wine bottle label: @LaTarasqueWine #CotesDuRhone. Our hard working #oenophile-tuned servers found the best price on the Web: $13.99 @luekensliquor Click here to buy: http://ow.ly/SmsG9 A sensual, old-vine #Grenache-dominated blend of elegance and structure, named for the notorious beast that ravaged the medieval countryside of the Cotes du Rhone. According to legend, the dragon was a reluctant tyrant, gladly saved by the soothing hymns and prayers of Saint Martha.
In honor of #LeftHandersDay, a great story and a #wine deal: @OwenRoeWinery Sinister Hand Red 2013 (375ml) WS89 http://bit.ly/1faIX9Q Long ago, the O'Neills and O'Reillys were rival Irish families. They formed a rowing competition to win some highly regarded land. They agreed that the first to touch the land, after rowing across a lake, would own the land. O'Neills boat was falling behind so a crew member grabbed his sword, cut off his hand and threw it ashore, winning title to the land.

Great #wine label: #Xodo White Lisboa 2014. Unusual varietals: Fernão Pires & Vital. Try it: http://cellar.com/148085/xodo-white-lisboa-2014 Quinta de Pancas was founded in 1495, making it one of the oldest wineries in the country. Today, longtime collaborators, Nuno do O and Joao Correa are the winemakers at this storied wine estate. Together, they have been at the forefront of the move toward a focus on smaller, grower produced wines in Portugal.
Pastel #WineLabel: #Penya Cotes Catalanes Rouge 2014. $8.99. WA91. Another beautiful #WineLabel. @WoodwardCanyon #Cabernet Artist Series 2012. Double 94pts http://www.budgetbottle.com/sku9781.html #wine Wine Enthusiast: "This wine has deeply concentrated yet focused and spicy purple-fruit tones. It’s generously endowed with notes of tobacco, licorice, mineral and pepper. The highlights keep piling on through a finish that seems to run for several minutes. This bold wine is enjoyable now but should also cellar well through 2020."
#WineLabel of the day: @EgoBodegas Fuerza Red 2011. #Spain Wine Advocate 90 pts. Review says: ""The 2011 Fuerza is mainly Monastrell with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented traditionally and aged 12 months in barriques. The nose shows a mixture of esparto grass, Mediterranean herbs, paprika and tree bark over the core of black cherries. The palate is quite savory, with fine, although abundant tannins that would do better with some powerful meat dishes." - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, 90
Another great #WineLabel: @CarneHumanaWine #RedWine. Buy it now @StationPlaza. $28.59. http://www.stationplazawine.com/r/products/10858239/carne-humana-red-2012 From the winery: "For our 2012 Carne Humana Proprietary Red Wine we blended 100% Napa Valley fruit, the preponderance of which was grown within the borders of the original rancho. All of the fruit was co-fermented and barrel-aged as unique blends. This allowed the various grape types to integrate with each other early on."

Red Newt Cellars #Riesling from New York state. Great looking label. Robert Parker 93 pts wine. Awesome to see that kind of wine coming out of the Empire State. Find great wines like this on www.PureVino.com.
Smoking Parrot Sauvignon Blanc. Do you get the arcane reference? We didn't either. If you did, you're a real wine expert. Here it is: Another name for a parrot is Polly. And a French word for smoke is Fume. So Polly Fume. Indicating this wine would make a substitute for the more expensive Pouilly Fume, those famous Loire wines made from Sauvignon Blanc. It didn't get that great of reviews and we couldn't find it being sold anywhere.
