Michele R Colonna
Born on 1.10.1964, attended the classical studies and got the Medical License on 14.07.1988 at the university of messina Medical school with academic honour. He got the postgraduate Degree in Plastic Surgery on July, 8th, 1993 at the University of Milan Postgraduate School of Plastic surgery cum laude. In 1995 he was certified by the European board of plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery. Between 1.191 and 2.12.96 he worked as a Collaborare Tecnico Laureato at the Institute of plastic surgery of the university of Milan, where he was the coordinator of the Laboratories for Epidermal Cultures, Biomaterials and Biotechnologies, Eidomatics and Robotics, Tissue Bank and Criobiology, Microsurgery and hand Surgery. He also attended the Burn Center, the ward and the operation theatres of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the miguarda Ca’ granda Hospital in Milan.
He worked as a tutor in several teaching lines of Milan University Medical School and in several Postgraduate Schools for Surgical Specialties at the University of Milan. He was a Lecturer at the 6th School of Biomaterials. Since 1994 he is member of the Italian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery. He moved 2.12.96 to the University of Messina, where he kept on teaching plastic surgery at the graduate school of Medicine and at the postgraduate schools of Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pediatric Surgery, Oncology.
In June 2000 he got the Degree in Wound Healing at the University of Montpellier medical school.
On 15.01.2001 after State examination he was appointed Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Messina.
On 24.12.2002 after State examination he was appointed Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Messina.
On 26.02.2003 he was appointed Head of the Unit of Plastic Surgery at the Messina University Hospital; since April, 2013, he has been appointed as the Clinical Referent for Hand Surgery.
He has attended several foreign medical institutions and attended several Congresses and Courses, also as a Lecturer. He published 145 scientific papers in the different fields of Plastic Surgery.
