Les modeles climatiques retenus dans le cadre des etudes menees au sein de l?Intergovernmental Pa... more Les modeles climatiques retenus dans le cadre des etudes menees au sein de l?Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) constituent une reference pour etudier l?evolution du climat dans les decennies a venir. Seuls certains modeles et certains scenarios d?emissions de gaz a effet de serre ont ete retenus pour cette etude, a partir de criteres fondes sur : (i) la disponibilite de donnees observees sur les periodes de simulation de maniere a pouvoir juger de la qualite des series generees par les algorithmes, (ii) le fait qu?un scenario d?emission de gaz a effet de serre donne soit disponible et utilisable avec plusieurs des modeles selectionnes de facon a autoriser les comparaisons. On procede ici a une evaluation des resultats fournis par les differents modeles utilises avec les scenarios disponibles qui leur correspondent pour le bassin mediterraneen. Cette appreciation des performances repose sur la comparaison des donnees observees et des donnees generees a des pas de temps annuel et saisonnier. On s?interessera egalement au devenir des precipitations pour les decennies a venir, sur la base des variations attendues aux trois horizons definis par l?IPCC (2020, 2050, 2080). La conclusion principale souligne une certaine disparite en ce qui concerne la capacite des algorithmes utilises a reproduire la realite observee et la grande variabilite des resultats actuellement disponibles en ce qui concerne l?evolution de la pluviometrie sur le bassin mediterraneen au cours du 21eme siecle.

Évolution climatique du Bénin de 1950 à 2010 et son influence sur les eaux de surface

En Afrique Occidentale et au Benin en particulier, la variabilite /changement climatique influenc... more En Afrique Occidentale et au Benin en particulier, la variabilite /changement climatique influence la disponibilite des ressources en eau de surface. Ainsi, cette etude vise a analyser le champ pluviometrique du Benin a partir des cinquante-trois (53) postes pluviometriques de 1950 a 2010 d’une part et les hauteurs de pluie et la temperature moyenne des six stations synoptiques et celles d’hydrometrie des fleuves Niger au Benin, Pendjari, Oueme, Mono et Couffo d’autre part. Il ressort de l’analyse une tendance des precipitations a la baisse et a la hausse des temperatures. Cette baisse est plus marquee dans le domaine soudanien (au Nord de 8°N) que dans le domaine subequatorial (au Sud de 8°N). Cette diminution des lames d’eau precipitee en ces trente dernieres annees a amplifie de 2 a 3 fois voire 4 fois le deficit d’ecoulement dans les cours d’eau beninois. This anarchic occupation facilitated high erodibility of land and by corollary high turbidity of water courses and water bodies and therefore a reduction in the depth of the bed of the river-lagoon complex. Hydroclimatogical Changes and Impacts on Seasonal Regimes of African Equatorial Rivers

In recent decades, changes in the pattern of hydroclimatogical cycle have been observed with impa... more In recent decades, changes in the pattern of hydroclimatogical cycle have been observed with impacts on seasonal regimes of African equatorial rivers. This communication reports on studies carried out for a set of river basins in equatorial Africa, tributaries of the Atlantic Gulf of Guinea: the Ogooue River in Gabon, the Kouilou River in Congo, and the basins of South Cameroon. These rivers are compared to the Congo River. A new monthly gridded rainfall dataset, and streamflow from selected rivers where used in the analysis. The observed changes include changes in seasonal pattern of rainfall and changes in monthly streamflow regimes. The study shows a decrease of rainfall in the southern hemisphere during February to May since the end of the 80s, while the decrease is much more limited in the Northern hemisphere. The Ouémé watersheds at Bétérou and Bonou has been recently facing increased sensitivity to extre... more The Ouémé watersheds at Bétérou and Bonou has been recently facing increased sensitivity to extreme hydroclimatic phenomena that occurred by flooding or drought events. In the same time, the population growth and the related socioeconomic activities increased the pressure state on water resources. In this context, hydrological modeling is an important issue and this study aims at analyzing the calibration of the hydrological model GR4J based on PET Penman-Monteith and Oudin methods. Daily rainfall, Penman-Monteith and Oudin evapotranspiration and daily data flow from the Bétérou and Bonou hydrometric stations on the Ouémé Basin have been implemented in the GR4J model over the period 1971 to 2010. Oudin PET values are slightly higher than the Penman-Monteith PET ones. However, the difference between the two PET methods have only few impacts on the optimization and performance criteria of the GR4J model. The Nash values ranges from 0.83 to 0.91 in Bonou, and 0.52 to 0.70 in Bétérou for the calibration in dry period, while in validation, they are 0.59 to 0.78 in Bétérou, and 0.56 to 0.88 in Bonou in wet season. In view of these results, with the two PET methods used which do not result from the same climatic variables, it should be said that the formulation of PET has only few impacts on the results of GR4J for these tropical basins.
