The core idea of the design process is to valorize existing success factors, facilitators and opportunities (motivation factors, the channels of the knowledge transfer and the identified benefits) of the collaboration, and to diminish or to avoid the potential threats and barriers that could interfere to collaboration (supported by solutions for overcoming disadvantages or partnership problems). The adopted methodology has been differentiated from two perspectives: (1) a business model that reflects the university perspective together with an inventory of KPIs; (2) a performance measuring model (including criteria and KPIs), and an associated methodology that could support companies to increase collaboration in open innovation with universities. In addition, to operationalize the proposed model (facilitate t...

Through the designed training and certification program, managers will develop their professional competencies in order to better identify, document, measure, analyze and manage, sustainable business processes in their companies. The proposed approach includes the learning materials development together with the certification procedure supported by the European Certification and Qualification Association (ECQA). The preliminary research phase consists of the marketing needs identification based on several focus groups developed with companies’ representatives from the West and Central Regions of Romania. The expected research results consist of the Leadership in Sustainability (LeadSUS) certification and qualification program that will be tested and validated through several train...

These processes are supported by an e-learning platform developed by the European Certification and Qualification Association in the last ten years. After a brief description of the Research-Entrepreneur skill card definition there are presented the skills acquisition within the platform, the methodology of the skill sets provision and the qualification and certification procedures. Also, the link with a national e-learning platform in the same field is described.

Engineering teams are becoming more and more interdisciplinary and distributed, products and the environments they are created, used and recycled in are increasingly complex. Design engineers, system architects as well as requirements engineers and managers have to be able to understand the product and its whole lifecycle in order to be able to respect the constraints and requirements that are imposed on the product by different actors. Many of these skills have to be developed and improved in the course of a professional career rather than in initial education. This paper gives insight into the development of one component of a consistent qualification and certification scheme, which is in its entirety particularly targeted at Integrated Design Engineers in various industrial sectors. Following the analysis of several definitions and interpretations, Smart Manufacturing, a term used in the USA for the next stage of industrialization, mainly refers to the use of information and technological communication to which is added the ability to analyze massive amounts of data in order to improve manufacturing processes and processes throughout the value chain. Following the concept of Industry 4.0, first mentioned by Germany in 2011, the Netherlands reacted with its own concept called Smart Industry, adapted to the strategy and vision from an industrial perspective and In turn, China has a Master Industrial Plan called "Made in China 2025" and is in fact the national strategic plan to transform the country into a superpower in terms of technology and manufacturing. This industrial policy aims to achieve economic supremacy and global recognition.

Industry 4.0 can be broken down into three major paradigms: smart product, smart machine and augmented operator. through which the factory operations are digital, which could imply and will put into operation the position of the producers on the market. Industry 4.0 is the future solution.

Furthermore, related activities’ parameters and indicators are predicted in order to precisely estimate their future state. All the debates during meetings and brainstorming sessions, during the product development process, are concerned with the future product result. In the project team, the engineering approach is applied based on the integrated system defined by people, equipment, tools and materials, but which are inter-related in a present moment. Actual corporations’ processes are strongly based in planning and prediction of their outcomes. Therefore, a need to adapt the actual predictive methodologies, by creating a new approach of how to apply TRIZ and other methodologies has raised. In this sense, the new tendencies of using and applying the cloud concept in manufacturing or product development have imposed the transit...

The companies are already looking into machine learning, augmented reality, and additive manufacturing for considerable business investments. All this will increase the need of highly qualified trainees and therefore, the universities will need to align with the needs of industry. The paper will present an overview of Additive Manufacturing training, the needs of highly skilled competences according to Industry 4.0 and will also underline the role of ergonomics specialists in Industry 4.0.

The importance of identification of key characteristics is considerably because of the impact that can occur in costs, product reliability, environment and safety. Each key characteristic is determined according to customer requirements and is controlled and monitored during production phase in order to secure the quality of the product. The identification of key characteristics is performed by a team, after the analysis of customer requirements, norms and regulations requirements and international organization requirements. The key characteristics are marked by a special marking and should be ensured a traceability of key characteristics through impacted documents (drawings, FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), control plan, work instructions etc.).

The monitoring wear degrees knowing at a given moment of the dynamical components is determined through the fuzzy method the wear degree of the system formed from monitoring components.

The process by maintenance has two levels: the selection of Maintenance Works (MW) and the maintainable equipments. Foe selection of MW two simple priority rules had been used: selection of the job with the longest Imminent Maintenance Operation Time (IMOT), selection the job with the longest Remaining Processing Maintenance Time (RPMT) from the of date base.

Such a combined approach led to emphasis the harmful functions effects and further, trying to find solutions that avoid or eliminate these effects it can be obtained a better product conceptual design.

In conceptual design stages FMEA can be applied through a functional analysis and following a top-down approach. The new products functions are increasingly more and more complex. This complexity creates the need to employ not a single method or approach to solve a specific problem but methods and approaches, combined, to see the specific problems from a combined perspective. In this sense in order to deploy a FMEA, the failures and their effects identification, in this paper is proposed a functional approach based on functional analysis techniques and functional modeling approach from TRIZ. Applying to functions resulted from an external an internal functional analysis a functional modeling, it can be followed more easily the harmful functions and their effects and thus ...
