We argue that current development and support strategy for creative industries, although acknowledge high correlation between innovation and creativity, do not seek to improve conditions to promote systematic innovation development in the creative sector. Using the Lithuanian animation industry as a case study, this paper will examine innovation contribution to creativity and, for that matter, the competitiveness of animation enterprises. This paper proposes insights that contribute to theoretical and practical discussions on how creative profile companies build national and international competitiveness through innovations. Today creative industries are economically efficient, innovative and constantly growing economic ... more Today creative industries are economically efficient, innovative and constantly growing economic segment. On the other hand, creative industry and its unique creative work process, brings increased stress and conflicts possibility to work environment. Causes of conflicts and conflict management have been analyzed in detail by a number of scholars, although conflicts evolving into disputes have been analyzed considerably less often. The causes of disputes in Lithuanian architectural segment were identified and analyzed in this article. These causes were grouped into two main categories – communication and non-communication causes. Case study results show that in 49% of 107 analyzed cases litigation could have been avoided if communication process between disputes parties would have been conducted professionally throughout all stages of production.

The born-global phenomenon has been studied for over a two decades, but theory and practice are s... more The born-global phenomenon has been studied for over a two decades, but theory and practice are still evolving, therefore understanding how the phenomenon operates in different countries and industries is crucial. This paper aims to contribute to a better understanding of the born-global phenomenon in context of creative industries. A literature review was conducted in order to identify the nature of creative profile enterprises and international process characteristics in creative industries. Authors conducted a quantitative questionnaire with seventeen enterprises from Lithuanian animation industry. Drawing from empirical evidence, it was found that the born-globals perceive internationalization primary as a means to increase the scope of creative projects, and only then as a way to increase income. Findings as well have shown that most of Lithuanian animation studios are born-global as they started international operations within three years from enterprises’ establishment.

Th... more In this paper authors analyse work environment in late Soviet period Lithuanian film industry. This study looks at primary sources (session memos, annual reports, professional film union’s memos etc.) and analyses what key elements influenced work ethics of Soviet Lithuanian film crew. Findings suggest that censorship, tolerance of low work ethics and strict annual production planning influenced work environment that accepted low film creative value and negative attitude towards administration.

The authors conducted quantitative research in order to properly evaluate the symbolic and cultural national film industry output level. The survey data is analyzed and compared with survey data from the previous year.

Conflicts in the business sector, in particular causes of conflicts and conflict management, have been analysed in detail and described by a number of scholars. However, the stage of conflict evolving into a dispute and the involvement of the parties to the conflict into litigation as a form of dispute resolution has been analysed considerably less often, although the greatest damage to business is caused namely at this stage. This article discusses how constructs can be effectively applied in the litigation process to achieve successful dispute resolution. It analyses the reasons for choosing this method, as well as the participants and their influence on the course of dispute and its outcomes. The identified peculiarities of the litigation process are described and analysed in detail by invoking Lithuanian case law. Based on these peculiarities, the authors developed the methodology that, with the use of legal constructs, can help to model effective conduct of the parties for having their dispute resolved in court.

Šios hipotezės pagrįstumas įrodomas pirmiausia glaustai apžvelgiant pagrindinius neverbalikos tyrimus ir gautas išvadas, kurios svariai prisidėjo prie neverbalinės komunikacijos studijų modernaus apibrėžimo ir supratimo. Straipsnyje taip pat parodoma, kaip neverbalikos tyrimų rezultatai gali būti panaudoti siekiant efektyvesnės komunikacijos tarp kūrėjo ir auditorijos ir kaip, neatsižvelgus į keletą neverbalios komunikacijos elementų, galima sukurti žinutę, priešingą užsakovo tikslui.

Aptariamas kultūrinis, simbolinis ir ekonominis kino industrijos kapitalas, kaip sektini kino industrijos pavyzdžiai analizuojama Didžiosios Britanijos ir Čekijos Respublikos patirtis, aptariamos šios patirties pritaikymo Lietuvoje galimybės. Siekiant tinkamai įvertinti simbolinį ir kultūrinį nacionalinės kino industrijos produkcijos lygį, analizuojami autoriaus atliktos apklausos duomenys. Norint nustatyti žiūrovo požiūrį į nacionalinę kino industriją, buvo atliktas kiekybinis tyrimas, kuriame dalyvavo 448 asmenys. Apklausos rezultatai parodė, kad statistinis žiūrovas yra abejingas Lietuvos kino produkcijai ir mano, jog Lietuvos kūrėjai neatsižvelgia į jo poreikius ir nesukuria stiprios rinkodaros.
