Hello! I’m Viv Tanner, a Swiss freelance illustrator based in Austria. Whenever I’m not fighting monsters alongside friends in TTRPG worlds, I love to draw characters in atmospheric settings for books, games & more. Together with Eliot Baum, I’ve worked on projects like Sefirot - A Tarot Board Game, The Hidden Isle, and our comic Heart of Gold. Apart from that, I’ve illustrated covers for books and assembled my own small artbooks, like Naufrage & Agape. My passion lies in characters and their interactions, so I spend most of my free time creating art inspired by DnD campaigns/oneshots, which allows me to experiment with different styles as well.

Hello!! I'm just very curious as to what is the backstory of Izek on your game. I'm pretty sure the DM took creative liberties fleshing that character out to make him so interesting to you and I really want to know more haha.
Hello! I’m so excited you’re asking. Our DM definitely took some liberties and changed some details about Izek Strazni. Some of those are Curse of Strahd spoilers (specifically about him as in the canon Izek Strazni, the Abbot and the Amber Temple,), so I’ll add them under the cut.
Thanks so much for your patience and your questions about the current status of Heart of Gold. It’s been an extremely busy time since we finished volume 2, with ups and downs in our private and professional lives. And sitting down to write this wasn’t easy, but we’ve been sitting on this far too long than we’d have liked, and we apologize for letting you all wait.
Well, to get straight to the point: Heart of Gold is on an indefinite hiatus. There’s a chance we will return to this project, but right now we are focusing on other areas. More under the cut below!
I absolutely LOVE your art of Jaimie! I remember seeing some art a while ago from Elibaum of them and another character. Nathan, I think? Do you have any art of them as well? Could you tell us what the story is between them?
There’s not really a story about them per se, mostly an array of tiny roleplay/alternate universe ideas we have for them. The gist of their relationship is that he finds/adopts her somewhere somehow and doesn’t get discouraged to raise this wild, rambunctious child by himself, since he’s a very calm and patient dad.
Sometimes I like to also play her in DnD oneshots, so that’s why there’s a Tiefling, as well as a human version of her! I just enjoy putting her into different scenarios :D
