The challenge
GLDN is all about making jewelry personal, so for their ongoing campaign for their popular Aura Collection, they knew they wanted to bring that same level of detail and attention to finding and selecting the best images possible. They needed photos that uniquely spoke to the depth, emotion, and colors found in the collection – 13 to be exact. With the VSCO Brand Engagement Platform, GLDN was able to not only find photos that aligned with their vision, but also engage and activate a brand new audience in the process.
With such a unique collection of jewelry and a personalized brand approach, GLDN wanted a new way to find the photos – and creators – that could keep their brand momentum going for the important holiday months ahead. A catered VSCO Brand Challenge was the perfect solution, giving GLDN the specificity they needed while opening the door to millions of creators on VSCO to showcase some creativity of their own.

How VSCO helped
Thousands of creators joined the Brand Challenge by sharing images with #GLDNChallenge on VSCO. The Challenge was crafted to elevate the colors of the Aura Collection and asked creators from around the world to capture images inspired by the hues of the featured gems. Amplification across both the VSCO app and social media created synergy that not only attracted top-tier creators, but also generated valuable brand engagement and awareness.
Once the Challenge opened, all GLDN had to do was sit back and see what the VSCO community could create – and they quickly found out. In just two weeks, they had over 100 stunning selects that the VSCO team handpicked for review, and they spanned the full range of all 13 gem colors in the Aura Collection. They licensed four images in total from VSCO creators and created bespoke pieces of jewelry for each selected photographer – adding even more positive brand sentiment. The partnership is building momentum as the images are planned to be featured in digital promotions and packaging.
