Shirin M Rai
Shirin M Rai studied at the University of Delhi (India) and Cambridge University (UK) and joined the University of Warwick in 1989. She is Professor in the department of Politics and International Studies and Director of Warwick Interdisciplinary Centre for International Development (WICID). Her research interests are in the political economy of development, gender and political institutions and performance and politics. She has written extensively on these issues in journals such as International Feminist Journal of Politics, New Political Economy, Review of International Studies, Signs, and World Development. She has edited fifteen books, the latest being the OUP Handbook of Politics and Performance(forthcoming).
