Coverage of lower extremity wounds, especially those in the ankle region, presents a challenge to the foot and ankle surgeon. The present case illustrates a surgical technique for the use of the reverse (distally based) peroneus brevis muscle flap for coverage of a postoperative ankle wound with exposed bone. The reverse peroneus brevis muscle flap provides an option for wound coverage in the ankle region in limb salvage cases in medically frail patients.
Considering the alarming predictions of researchers and policy makers concerning the natural phenomenon climate change, this study “Effects of Climate Change on Agricultural Sustainability – Implications for Food Security” was carried out in southeast Nigeria to untie some of the dangers associated with it as a prelude to the final solution. Data for the study were mainly secondary time series data collected from institutions. Statistical data on climate elements for forty years between (1972-2011) were collected from the Agro-metrological unit of the National Root Crop Research Institute (NRCRI) Umudike while input/output data in physical and value terms concerning cassava production were collected from government ministries and agencies. Data were analysed using descriptive statistical tools like mean frequency, percentages, frequency polygon or line graphs. Furthermore, multiple regression analytical tools were used to determine the effects of climate change on agricultural sustainability. Results showed an increasing

How faculty might be more responsive and responsible to students' growing concerns about current and coming social and ecological crises? Will we heed the call from many young people for us *all* to grow up so that we might have a chance of interrupting the cycle of irresponsibility and immaturity that has led us to these crises in the first place?
Corruption in Pre-modern Societies: Challenges for Historical Interpretations, 2024
Pre-modern societies produced anti-corruption laws and regulations that distinguished between public and private, although logically the elements that make up the equation were today understood in an unusual way. At the same time, social expectations regarding the effectiveness of the war on corruption were not limited to legislative instruments produced by the Monarchy or the Church. The political and social model is the key to accessing the problem of corruption. It is based on the logic of appropriation and distribution of common wealth (good) that accusations of corruption materialize. The political game is the visible scene, easily accessible to scholars, but it hides the backstage, where the fundamentals lie. Without forgetting what is at stake, it will be possible to try to recompose the social norms that form the consensus around the appropriation and distribution of wealth. In terms of the concept, concrete cases allow us to say that it is permanently disputed, which means that corruption does not occur in the abstract. It is about the power to resignify a concrete act, the power to classify an action.
Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale (1985), is the account of an imaginary future State, the Republic of Gilead, based on strict biblical values where men take back their place as head of the family (and the State), and women go back to their original ancillary position, both in society and at home. Gilead was indeed created to solve problems such as the extinction of the human race, due to a diffused infertility, using fertile women, the Handmaids, as surrogate mothers for the families of the Commanders, those who rule it. This creates, in fact, a new model of family, where the Commander and his wife host another woman in their house, hoping that, through the monthly “Ceremonies” (the intercourse between the Commander and the Handmaid), theirs can become a traditional family with children. Yet, the novel shows how a true balance, even between the sexes, is impossible to reach. The aim of this analysis is to show how the author has fractioned all the elements that form a family, as a small version of society itself, to foretell a possible outcome of many matters of debate, especially the role of women. The continuous comparisons that the narrator, a handmaid, does between her previous life, where she had a husband and a daughter, hence a family, are a way to warn about the possibility that, in the future, everything that seems normal might become obsolete and considered almost “wrong”, in the light of a new normality made of strict rules that are justified as an extreme measure to save the very institution of family, the human race itself, and to protect women. The novel, although written in the 80’s, turns out to be a reflection upon current issues about family and the role of women as “carriers of life”, suggesting how the most extreme wing of the debate might, one day, bring to a familiar model that dates back to the Bible, since, as one of the Commander claims, the freedom to marry for love and create a family was “just an anomaly […]. All we’ve done is return things to Nature’s norm”.

This paper investigates the meaning of two pairs of synonyms taken from the glorious Qur'an, and how the compilers of bilingual dictionaries treat them while giving their meaning. The amount of information given under each word will also be investigated. The two pairs of synonyms under investigation are: (Al gaiØ ثیغلا/ Al matarرطملا) and (Al khawf فوخلا/ Al khashyahةیشخلا). The three bilingual Arabic-English dictionaries concerned in the present study are AL MAWRID: A modern Arabic English Dictionary (1997) by Dr. Rohi Baalbaki, A Dictionary Of Modern Written Arabic (1979) by Hans Wehr, and A Learner's Arabic-English Dictionary (1984) by F. Steingass. The results show that the three selected dictionaries equally treated the two pairs as complete synonyms, while they varied in the amount of information they provided for each item.
This paper wishes to return to my first fieldwork experiences with the Mosuo society in China. The context of tourism in which my research was conducted updates the complexity of self-positioning as an anthropologist. In a current globalized context, many clichés regarding the data collection strategies of the ethnologist do emerge. Assigned to some positionalities often unambiguous, the anthropologist must negotiate his place. Intersubjectivity therefore becomes a highly fertile source in order to learn by doing. Different contexts highlight the complex positionalities which emerge from multiple scenes of doing fieldwork in a context of tourism. At that time comes out with intersubjectivity an entre-deux, a far more resourceful source of information than the usual overlooking observations done by the anthropologist. The analysis of this situation, in regard to a reflexive literature that already pointed out rich reflexivity on fieldwork experiences, shows that the production of knowledge fully depends on these positionalities and on the intersubjectivity played in response. Without going to far in the conclusions, this text wishes to show that it is now more necessary than ever to question the epistemological consequences of the conditions of production of anthropological knowledge.

Our objective was to develop a guide based on the best available evidence that allow family physicians to establish criteria for screening, diagnosis, prevention, treatment of disease, early detection and management of complications; to standardize the organizing processes of the diabetic patient's care in the primary care level; and to achieve lifestyle modifi cation for patients and promote self-care. Clinical questions were stated according to the diagram and structured patient-intervention-comparison-outcome.
