Abstract

The meaning of the passage is evident, but the reading ἀναστατοῦν is clearly problematic. The author sides with Austin's objections and tries to demonstrate the grounds for refusal of the reading of the Papyrus. The author makes an attempt to amend the passage having recourse to conjecture.
