The aim of this paper was to investigate the effects of a 10-week plyometric training (PT) on static balance (SB-unipedal), dynamic balance (DB-bipedal slalom), anaerobic power (AP) and some physical fitness parameters (PFP). Female handball players (aged: 15.13±0.87 years) were randomly selected into an experimental group (EG; n= 14), and a control group (CG; n= 12). At the begining of the examination, SB-unipedal, DB-bipedal slalom and PFP were measured. Wilcoxon test was used for comparison within groups and Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of between groups. Research findings show that the EG made significantly greater improvements than the CG in the SB-unipedal (left), AP, 30-meter sprint, agility, vertical jump (VJ), and horizontal jump (HJ) performances (p<0.05). Finally, 10-week PT positively affects SB-unipedal (left), AP, 30-meter sprint, agility, VJ and HJ performances. In order to gain positive results for these parameters, the PT program should be added and applied regularly in handball practice by coaches.
In the aftermath of the Great War, similar to other colonial powers, Portugal was under greater pressure to meet the requirements of the more 'enlightened' concept of imperial rule. Even if Woodrow Wilson's rhetoric regarding the condition of the colonial populations was quickly perceived as deeply flawed by nationalist and proto-nationalist leaders across the colonial world, the emergence of the League of Nations was a significant development in the new international landscape. In the 1920s, these new developments became the focal point for the critics of the colonial status quo. This paper sets out to explore various facets of this new chapter of European imperialism. It will start by assessing the challenges met by Portugal at the Peace Conference and the compromises that came out of it. It will then examine the agency displayed by some creole leaders from Portugal's empire who managed to forge connections with the Pan Africanist movement, as well as explore the ambiguities of their relationship with the Portuguese authorities. Additionally, it will also examine the challenges posed by the League of Nations in the fields in which Portugal's 'civilizing' record appeared more dubious (above all, matters pertaining to labour relations).

This paper contributes to the electronic banking (e-banking) literature by applying the modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in an under-researched Zambian context. Specifically, it examines the influence of e-banking technology's perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and trust (safety and credibility) on e-banking adoption. Based on a quantitative correlational design, primary sample data were collected from 222 bank customers from two of Zambia's largest cities. The findings indicate that the modified TAM model is applicable in the Zambian context and that perceived usefulness, ease of use and trust each significantly positively influences attitude to e-banking. In turn attitudes to e-banking influence intention and actual adoption of e-banking services. For scholars, practitioners and policy makers, the study shows that improving perceptions of trust (safety, security and credibility), usefulness and ease of use of e-banking systems would result in increased adoption. This paper is the first to extend the modified TAM model into the under-researched developing country context of e-banking in Zambia.
