The main purpose of our research was to investigate how to manage a primary school class. In the theoretical section of our study, we noticed that scientific literature about this topic emphasizes the historical shift from disciplining students to managing a class. This change is particularly important for creating better relationships between teachers and students, thus achieving an effective learning. In the empirical section, we collected opinions from a group of teachers from primary schools in Istria and Rijeka about perception of conduct by means of a standardized questionnaire. The obtained results are interesting: teachers perceive collaboration among students, teachers and parents as a considerably important factor which influences the behaviour of the class in a positive way. These results also indicate that pre-established rules of correct behaviour create a more mature sense of responsibility in children of such young age.

The aim of the study is to determine experiences of children attending a preschool class and their teacher about class rules, desirable and undesirable behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher concerning these behaviors. The study is a case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The participants were 14 children attending a class for 5 year-olds in an independent kindergarten and the teacher of the class. Semi-structured interview technique was used in the study. In addition, in two of the questions in the interview, the students were asked to draw pictures to help them describe their experiences in more detail. The data in the study were analyzed by content analysis, categorized by coding, and themes and sub-themes were obtained. As a result of the research, it was found that the opinions of the children and their teachers about class rules and undesirable behaviors were in parallel with each other. The study revealed that the experiences of children and the teacher overlap in terms of behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher in response to desirable behaviors. However, it was found that the experiences of children and their teacher differ with regards to the way class rules are determined, and behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher concerning undesirable behaviors.

The aim of this study is to determine undesirable student behaviors that primary school teachers encounter within the framework of classroom management and to determine their solutions to these undesirable student behaviors. In the research, descriptive survey model was used in accordance with the nature of qualitative research selected as the method. The research was carried out in the province of Aydın, Türkiye in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 Academic Year. The participants of the study, for which ethical conventions are followed, consist of a total of 12 primary school teachers, each of whom is represented by at least three primary school teachers from lower, middle and upper social economic levels. The selection of the study group was made with reference to the maximum diversity sampling, one of the sampling techniques. The opinions of the participants were collected with the help of a semi-structured interview form and the data obtained from the interviews were analyzed using content analysis method. In line with the data collected and analyzed by 2 researchers, the findings were shared within the scope of 6 themes. As a result, while it was determined that undesirable behaviors in classroom management were mostly caused by students, individual learning speed and friend relations, it was determined that these result from the factors pertaining to the environment, friends, technology use and family. Although the participants appeared to have various coping methods for undesirable behaviors, they stated that there exist responsibilities especially of parents, school staff and students in order to eliminate and minimize the relevant problems.

Regarding the topic of discipline management in the educational practice, there are legitimate concerns and many pedagogical questions that need to be addressed, given that the attainment of discipline is a significant issue in schools. The main purpose of this research is to determine whether primary and secondary school students have comprehended the role of discipline and rules in school and, in particular, in educational practice. In addition, related issues are investigated, such as the student’s undisciplined or problematic behavior, the causes of indiscipline phenomena, as well as, the pedagogical means available to the teacher for creating propitious conditions of communication and relationship with the students, which contribute to the effective management of both the educational process and the challenging matters related to the attainment of classroom discipline and in general, of school discipline. As it is indicated by the findings of this research, the responses of the...

The aim of the study was to analyse the effect of school management mechanisms on the discipline of pupils in upper basic primary level. This study examined the effect of; (a) guidance and counselling on the discipline of pupils, (b) school-rules and regulations on the discipline of pupils, and (c) school-family initiative program on the discipline of pupils in upper primary basic level. A cross sectional survey design using both quantitative and qualitative approaches was adopted to obtain data from a sample of 291 participants from 11 primary schools. Both the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and thematic content analysis for quantitative and qualitative data analysis respectively, were used. The effect results highlighted by the multiple regression for guidance and counselling and discipline were; r = 0.628; p-value, 0.003 < 0.05; 95%, school rules and regulations and discipline were; r = 0.671; p-value, 0.009 < 0.05; 95%, and school-family initiative and discipline were; r = 0.601; p-value, 0.004 < 0.05; 95%. It was concluded that guidance and counselling, school rules and regulation, and school-family initiative were significant predictors of pupils' discipline in upper primary basic level. It is recommended that school management should be committed in executing school management mechanisms in their hierarchy of importance to effectively implement discipline in upper primary basic level.
Being a teacher who always must handle a class of different people, it is no question that they have to maintain the responsibility of bringing peace and prosperity among the students. Hence, this research proposal aims to study the effects and how big a difference a teacher’s use of different classroom strategies can make when it comes to a student’s learning experience, giving conclusion to whether their current strategies are favorable and suitable for their class. It wishes to address the issues of a possible domino effect of mishandled conduct, such as teachers who may have an underdevelopment with their lack of knowledge in terms of classroom management when it comes to their profession. It strives to answer how teachers choose the appropriate course of action in handling various types of situations within the classroom and the involvement of the usage of imperative discipline whenever a lesson is in order, as well as showing any similarities or patterns amongst the answers from the survey to be administered by the researchers.

This article deals with the concept of discipline in a novice teacher. It is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part deals with discipline as a concept, how to maintain discipline, about discipline failure causes, and the factors causing insubordination. The article also describes authority as one of the most important points in maintaining discipline. It concerns itself with the climate in the classroom and ultimately, the prevention and resolution of indiscipline issues. In the empirical part of the article, it also deals with the data-collection method – namely, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. In our research, hypotheses were set, which the article tries to answer using statistically processed data. A separate chapter of the actual article is devoted to the empirical investigation results.

The management of a classroom of pupils involves the orchestration and coordination of the entire learning process, so that it would be as effective and productive as possible. This complex process merges with the action of creating a positive learning environment, both as the physical space is concerned, and through the totality of the essential elements of the pupils' personalities. Starting from the premise that the pupils' opinions can provide us clues regarding how to promote a top managerial process in schools, we conducted, over the course of the academic year 2012-2013, an inquiry in a target group formed of middle-school-aged pupils. Managing a group of pupils is a practical expression of the actions taken to improve the educational act, both from an institutional standpoint, and from the perspective of creating the framework and conditions for a more productive activity. The change in the pupils' position, from mere "receivers" of dispositions and orders, to collaborators does not exclude the teacher's authority, which must be based on competence, freshness of view, originality, imagination, opportunity, and pertinence of reflections and solutions (Albu, 1998, p. 171).

The value of a teacher depends, among others, on their ability to transfer information from the scientific level to that of the efficient reception and understanding of each beneficiary of education, depending on individual features and age.The present study investigates the teachers’ and students’ beliefs and visions about student behaviour management.Starting from the assumption that the identification of the line between formative supervision vs punitive supervision or between formative supervision vs the absence of supervision is a sensitive issue, the present study analyses these forms of supervision in order to provide support for high quality professional development and training.
