Little is known about the reactions of tort litigants to traditional and alternative litigation procedures. To explore this issue, we interviewed litigants in personal injury cases in three state courts whose cases had been resolved by trial, court-annexed arbitration, judicial settlement conferences, or bilateral settlement. The litigants viewed the trial and arbitration procedures as fairer than bilateral settlement, apparently because they believed that trials and arbitration hearings gave their case more respectful treatment. They were less satisfied with the outcome of judicial settlement conferences than with the outcome of bilateral settlements, because judicial settlement conference outcomes were more likely to fall below their expectations. In general, procedural justice judgments and outcome satisfaction were little related to objective outcome, cost, or delay; instead the evaluations appeared to be determined largely by perceptions of whether the procedure met litigants' criteria for procedural fairness and expectations on outcomes and costs. Gender, income, and race did not have much effect on evaluations.

Harry Blackmun fooled everyone. When Richard Nixon appointed him to the Supreme Court at age sixty-one, who would have predicted that this "'safe" conservative would retire twenty-four years later-the year Nixon died-as the Court's last liberal?' Would anyone have guessed how sharply he would break from his "Minnesota Twin," Warren Burger, or brake the Burger Court's retreat from the Warren Court? Did an), foresee that a member of so many majorities 2 would someday emerge as the Carolene Products' Justice of the Rehnquist Court: the spokesman for the have-nots, the excluded, the discrete and insular minorities? 4 Why Blackmun changed has offered steady fare for pundits, but no longer presents a true puzzle. Part of the explanation. as the Justice himself noted, is that the Court itself listed rightward.f The Court he joined ranked among the most liberal in history, while the one he leaves surely stands among the most conservative. 6 In many areas, his jurisprudence remained strikingly consistent

The Efficient Market Hypothesis states that markets are self correcting and that predicting them accurately every time is impossible. In the age where machine learning and natural computing algorithms have various applications, we test the prediction efficacy of LSTMs on intraday time-series data for forecasting price of index FTSE 100 (UK). In our study, we have created 2 Deep Learning architectures with LSTM and used Support Vector Machine Regression and Multivariate Linear Regression to benchmark the results and draw comparison. We start with raw prices in dataset and later incorporate some technical indicators as well. A bit of feature engineering is also attempted using k-means clustering. We have carefully designed our experiments to reach an optimal level of accuracy where the algorithm 'learns' and not merely 'memorizes' the dataset. Hence tradeoffs have been made to sacrifice RMSE values in order to have a better goodness of fit.

In today's era of Artificial Intelligence, businesses are operating at a fast pace to keep up with evolving technology, competition, and consumer preferences. While some are pursuing sustainable strategies for long-term success, others are opting for quick solutions to meet consumers' demands. In the pursuit of business success, organisations are embracing a linear economy, characterised by a take-make-dispose business model. This approach places economic gains above environmental concerns, resulting in a 400% increase in natural resource extraction since 1970, with only 7.2% of used materials being recycled back into the economy. If current trends persist, we will require the resources of three planets by 2050. To address this, sustainability has emerged as a priority, with the concept of a Circular Economy proposed as an alternative to the linear economic model. Shifting to a circular economy will necessitate innovation, collaboration, and a change in mindset among all stakeholders, including businesses, governments, and consumers. This article provides a brief overview of my postgraduate research on the circular economy.

Resumen Intended to supply the urgent need in the process of building metallic structures from cold-formed profiles, a guideline including the most applicable and important aspects of designing and building these profiles has been developed. It pretends to establish a simple and efficient calculation method, as required by our countrys requisites, to diminish defects and to correct errors in practice. Several written and oral sources were consulted for obtaining the necessary information. The 1980 edition of the Cold Formed Steel Design Manual was the main source for establishing a calculation method in a Microsoft Excel electronic sheet format. Several observations were carried out in structures under construction, and recommendations to follow in this process were given. In a cold-formed steel factory, several types of profiles were measured and, in the laboratory, tension tests were carried out to pipettes made of the same type of steel used to manufacture the profiles. It was f...
Stafne's declaration presents evidence that Deutsche Bank and its former attorney are arguing that no one knows who represents the Bank now. Hmmmm. Does Division One really except us to believe that with all the attorneys purportedly representing Deutsche Bank in foreclosures and evictions like this one throughout Washington State that no one knows who represents that Bank in the Larson's appeal , which challenges the integrity of Washington State courts? Anyone else, besides the Larsons and their attorney, think something about the way the Court of Appeals is adjudicating this appeal doesn't smell right?
Superconductor es un adjetivo que se aplica a aquellos materiales que al ser enfriados dejan de ejercer resistencia al paso de la corriente eléctrica. De este modo a una cierta temperatura el material se convierte en conductor eléctrico de tipo perfecto.
