This paper presents a modern RFID system for campus access and facilities. The system works in 13,56 MHz range, according with ISO 15693 standard. An innovative access method using data blocks instead of searching ID card holder in a database is presented. Besides access control, the system can also provide: cashless vending for student restaurant, parking, laundry, copiers, cafeteria services, library check out services, logical access control to online research and other digital resources, automatic access to students events and activities, transcript of academic record.

The paper summarizes our preliminary findings regarding the development and implementation of a newly proposed system based on ICT and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technologies for campus access and facility usage. It is generally acknowledged that any educational environment is highly dependent upon a wide range of resources or variables such as teaching staff, research and study areas, meeting and accommodation facilities, library services, restaurant and leisure facilities, etc. The system we have devised using ICT and RFID technologies supports not only authentic transactions among all university departments, but also interconnects all levels of academic life and activity. Thus, the utility of the system ranges from access control (student/ staff/ visitor identification), attendance tracking, library check-out services and voting to grade book consulting, inventory, cashless vending, parking, laundry and copying services. Physically, the system consists of several RFID gates/readers, a data server and some network stations, all of them requiring specific structuring and integration solutions. The system is quite different from already existing ones in that it proposes an innovative access solution. Thus, the search of the ID card holder in a database has been replaced by local processing. Since one and the same card is employed to perform a variety of operations, the system has immediate and numerous utilizations.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is getting popularity among identification technologies owing to its low cost, light weight, reduced size and inexpensive maintenance. Due to the recognition of RFID in the area of manufacturing, retail, pharmaceuticals and logistics, it is now in consideration for use in many different areas like ubiquitous computing, healthcare, agriculture, transport and security. Now a days security, power conservation and scalability are among the top issues that are in consideration for designing projects. In this paper, we contemplate the said issues and present how emerging technology of RFID can be used for building a smart university. Prototype is developed considering major use cases involved in a smart university. The system is taking care of maintaining attendance record, switching control of electrical items and security locks of rooms. Results show that consumption of energy and object tracking time is decreased while security of rooms and credibility of attendance record are increased.

We are planning to implement the Project for campus management using RFID. We are using UHF/HF RFID tags and UHF/HF RFID reader to detect the authenticate user to get an entry for access control as well as cafeteria. If the user get detect as a authenticate person then message will send to him/her mobile through web service. In cafeteria we are going to place a RFID scanner which is look like a tab. So, the student or staff can be able the select a menu or place the order from the table menu or order data automatically will generate to the central server which will held at canteen counter as well as the user will able to pay the order through the RFID tag but user have to recharge the RFID tag from the canteen manager. This concepts is used for large industries, universities etc.

The student attendance logging system at the moment is often conducted by using conventional presence form filled out by lecturers as well as students. The presence of conventional system has weaknesses at the time of reporting attendance data recap at the end of semester i.e. Recaps attendance manually. Note the System RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a device-based radio frequency identification which consists of three main components, namely tag or transponder, reader, and database. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information. Passive tags collect energy from a nearby RFID reader's interrogating radio waves. Active tags have a local power source such as a battery and may operate at hundreds of meters from the RFID reader. Unlike a barcode, the tag need not be within the line of sight of the reader, so it may be embedded in the tracked ...

An automated identification and control system has been developed to optimize the entry of students to the University dining room at the National University of San Agustin. The system of attendance and authentication is scalable, reliable and secure. The prototype consists of a master microcontroller with 2 slaves of RFID readers for a 13.56MHz frequency and works with two photoelectric proximity sensors, four actuators of pulse width modulation controlled servo motors (PWM) with a period of 20ms and a tape RGB smart led signaling. The purpose is to automate the entry of students so that long queues do not form while reporting on the attendance of students. Then, the proposal is to use a PWM control algorithm, which will run on the Atmega2560 master microcontroller, which is linked to a server. The database on the server verifies the identity and status of the student through a Java Netbeans graphical interface. The system is optimized to receive a rapid response and to function wit...
With growth of technology and giant leap in the field of Radio frequency transmission, a requirement for the safety and campus security using RFID is desired. The main purpose of the campus security system is to make the campus secured in every way that is need to be done and also maintaining the discipline in the school/hospital campus. Authentication of the person entering the campus is done automatically with help of RFID system.
