The concept of Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) has emerged tremendously after the initiation of various government schemes such as Make In India, Smart City Initiative and with increased approval from the FDI’s demand for infrastructures. These kinds of buildings provide the required section as per the optimum requirement based on the bending moment. This method has pre-fabricated steel components that are assembled on the site and is lightweight and economical. Times being the controlling factor, the pre-fabricated steel structures are erected in less time and with ease.
In recent years, the introduction of Pre Engineered Building (PEB) design of structures has helped in optimizing design. The construction of PEB in the place of Conventional Steel Building (CSB) design concept resulted in many advantages as the members are design as per bending moment diagram and thus reducing the steel requirement. In this study, an industrial structure PEB Frame & CSB Frame is analyzed and designed according to the Indian standards, IS 800-1984, IS 800-2007 .In this study, a structure with length 80m, width 60m,with clear height 11.4m and having R-Slope 5.71 Degree for PEB & 18 Degree for CSB is considered to carry out analysis& design for 2D frames. The economy of the structure is discussed in terms of its weight comparison, between Indian codes (IS800-1984, IS800-2007) & in between PEB & CSB building structure.

Steel industry is growing rapidly in almost all the parts of the world. The use of steel structures is not only economical but also eco friendly at the time when there is a threat of global warming. Time being the most important aspect, steel structures (Pre fabricated) is built in very short period and one such example is Pre Engineered Buildings (PEB).This review from the past experiences presents the results of experimental and analytical studies done on Pre Engineered Building. Results show that these structures are economic, reduces construction cost and time, energy efficient and flexibility of expansion.

Pre-Engineered building (PEB) is a new concept for the construction of single storey industrial building. The concept is versatile not only due to its quality pre-designing and prefabrication but also due to its time efficiency and light weight. The concept of Pre-Engineered Building includes the technique of providing the best possible section according to the optimum requirements. This concept has many advantages over Conventional Steel Structure (CSB). And Pre-Engineered Building is efficient alternative to Conventional Steel Building. In this paper main frame of Pre-Engineered Structure of 12 m, 14m, 16m, 18m, 20m width & 6m Eave height have been analysed and designed by Staad pro to understand behaviour of PEB.

In steel structure design the Pre-engineering building (PEB) system is a modern technology that provides economical, eco-friendly, and sustainable structures. The pre-Engineered Building (PEB) concept is a new conception of single-story industrial building construction. This methodology is versatile not only due to its quality pre-designing and prefabrication but also due to its lightweight and economical construction. This concept has many advantages over the Conventional Steel Building (CSB) concept of buildings with roof trusses. This paper mainly focuses on the PEB concept and CSB concept. The study is achieved by designing a Warehouse building as PEB and as CSB with the help of Staad Pro. The CSB is designed and analyzed by IS 800:2007 (LSM) and PEB is designed and analyzed by AISC 360:10.

A pre-engineered steel building (PEB) has now become one of the most efficient and simplified building type in the steel construction industry. PEB has found a wide application in the Indian civil industry. Use of tapered members for columns and rafters is one of the basic properties of PEB. Use of web-tapered members increases the efficiency of the PEB. Rather there are limitations for design of tapered members by Indian code the use of these members is made in the industry which has its design based on the American design. In this study we have made a review over some literature based over the concept and design of PEB. We have also studied the provisions of the codes and made a brief study on PEB.

In steel structure design the Pre-engineering building (PEB) system is a modern technology that provides economical, eco-friendly and sustainable structures. Whereas before the establishment of the PEB system in steel structure construction conventional steel building (CSB) system is used which is provide time-consuming, costly design. The CSB is costly due to more consumption of steel because of using a uniform cross-section of the hot-rolled section throughout the member length. However, based on the loading effect built-up section used in PEB and only bolted connections are provided at the construction site. PEB consuming less time and provides lightweight design and it is advantageous over CSB when the span is large and column-free space required. The design and manufacturing of structure members are done at plant and later its conveyed to the construction site and the erection process will take place. In this paper, a G+3 industrial warehouse is designed and analyzed as per Indian standard code IS 800-2007 (LSM).The analysis of warehouse building was carryout by using STADD-pro software. In this paper, the comparison is also made between Pre-engineered building (PEB) and Conventional steel building (CSB). The CSB is design and analysis by IS 800:2007 (LSM). The objective of this paper is to discuss the most economical frame in terms of tonnage and the possible reason for the variation of results. The comparative study is also done for the hot-rolled section used in CSB and cold-formed purlins used in PEB.
In this case study I have analyzed, Designed and compared the pre-engineered industrial building with the conventional building by mainly comparing the bending moments at different sections. Also I have considered different components of the pre-engineered steel building. To design and analysis the PEB and CSB I have used Staad pro v.8 as well as Indian standard codes. And finally I have compared these two structures in terms of Economy and Time saving of construction. I have tried many truss systems for cladding and roofing system purpose. In the analysis I have analyzed and designed the Purlins, Girts, Eave Struts and Bracings etc. For the design I have considered Dead Load, Live Load and Wind Load for the location of Vadodara, Gujarat as per IS Code consideration.
Steel is the basic material that is used in the Materials that are used for Pre-engineered steel building. The latest version of the Code of Practice for general construction in steel IS 800:2007 is based on Limit State Method of design. The design concept is totally changed in comparison to earlier IS 800:1984 which is based on elastic method. India being a developed country massive house buildings construction is taking place in various part of the country. Since, 30% of Indian populations live in towns and cities hence construction is more in urban places. The requirement of housing is tremendous but there will always be a shortage of house availability as the present masonry construction technology cannot meet the rising demand every year. Hence, one has to think for alternative construction system like Pre engineered steel buildings. In the present work, the study of Pre Engineering Building with Conventional Steel Building has been carried out The observations made based on th...
Long span, Column free structures are the most essential in any type of industrial structures and Pre Engineered Buildings (PEB) fulfil this requirement along with reduced time and cost as compared to conventional structures. This methodology is versatile not only due to its quality pre-designing and prefabrication, but also due to its light weight and economical construction. The present work presents the comparative study and design of conventional steel frames with concrete columns and steel columns and Pre Engineered Buildings (PEB). In this work, an industrial building of length 44m and width 20m with roofing system as conventional steel truss and pre-engineered steel truss is analyzed and designed by using STAAD Pro V8i.
