Facial Expressions are considered as one of the channels that convey human emotions. The task of emotion recognition often involves the analysis of human expressions in multi-modal forms such as images, text, audio or video. Different emotion types are identified through the integration of features from facial expressions. This information contains particular feature points that are used to analyse expressions or emotions of the person. These feature points are extracted using image processing techniques. The proposed system focuses on categorizing the set of 68 feature points into one of the six universal emotions i.e. Happy, Sad, Anger, Disgust, Surprise and Fear. For collecting these points, a series of images is given as input to the system. Feature points are extracted and corresponding co-ordinates of the points are obtained. Based on the distances co-ordinates from centroid, images are classified into one of the universal emotions. Existing system show recognition accuracy mo...

Facial expression recognition has many potential applications which have attracted the attention of researchers in the last decade. Feature extraction is one important step in expression analysis which contributes toward fast and accurate expression recognition. Happy, surprise, disgust, sad, anger and fear facial expressions Emotion are of facial recognition. Facial expressions are most commonly used for interpretation of human emotion. There is a range of different emotions in two categories: positive emotion and non-positive emotion. There are four types of generally using system: Face detection, extraction, Classification and recognition. In Existing system it is not so much identify exact emotion of a person . In this proposed taking the large scale image, hybrid extraction feature and ANN classification of frame based expression recognition try to detect facial expression detection and emotion detection for positive and non-positive images also design robust.
Paper contains emotion recognition system based on facial expression using Geometric approach. A human emotion recognition system consists of three steps: face detection, facial feature extraction and facial expression classification. In this paper, we used an anthropometric model to detect facial feature points. The detected feature points are group into two class static points and dynamic points. The distance between static points and dynamic points is used as a feature vector. Distance changes as we track these points in image sequence from neutral state to corresponding emotion. These distance vectors are used for input to classifier. SVM (Support Vector Machine) and RBFNN (Radial Basis Function Neural Network) used as classifier. Experimental results shows that the proposed approach is an effective method to recognize human emotions through facial expression with an emotion average recognition rate 91 % for experiment purpose the Cohn Kanade databases is used.
Human-computer interaction will be much more effective if a computer know the emotional state of human. Facial expression contains much information about emotion. So if we can recognize facial expressions, we will know something about the emotion. However, it is difficult to categorize facial expressions from images. Neural network may be suitable in this problem because it can improve its performance. Moreover, we do not need to know much about the features of the facial expressions to build the system. The input to the system is a 96x72 pixels image containing a human face. The outputs are 6 numbers. Each number represents a facial expression ( smile, angry, fear, disgust, sadness, surprise). The number is 1 if that facial expression is present and 0 otherwise.

Facial Emotion Recognition has been a very significant issue and an advanced area of research in the field of Human-Machine Interaction and Image Processing. Human-Machine relation is a major field for that different approaches have been proposed for developing methods for recognition of automated facial emotion analysis using not only facial expressions, also speech recognition. Facial expression detection the multiple varieties of human faces like texture, color, shape, expressions etc. are considered. Firstly, to detect a facial emotions of the human with variations in the facial movements including mouth, eyes, and nose are to be determined and after that considering those features using a very good classifier to recognize the human emotions. This paper gives a brief summary of emotion recognition methods like Feature Fusion, Deep Auto-Encoder, Sigma Pi-Neural Network, Genetic Algorithm, PHOG and Hierarchical Expression Model etc. which are used to recognize human emotions are presented.

This work proposes an automatic human-face expression recognition system that classifies seven different facial expressions: happiness, anger, sadness, surprise, disgust, fear and neutral. The experimental results show that the proposed system achieves the best hit hate using a linear discriminant classifier, 99.71% and 99.55% for MUG and FEEDTUM databases respectively.

This paper proposes a emotion detector, applied for facial images, based on the analysis of facial segmentation. The parameterizations have been developed on spatial and transform domains, and the classification has been done by Support Vector Machines. A public database has been used in experiments, The Radboud Faces Database (RAFD), with eight possible emotions: anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, surprise, neutral and contempt. Our best approach has been reached with decision fusion, using transform domains, reaching an accurate up to 96.62%.

Facial Expression is a significant role in affective computing and one of the non-verbal communication for human computer interaction. Automatic recognition of human affects has become more challenging and interesting problem in recent years. Facial Expression is the significant features to recognize the human emotion in human daily life. Facial Expression Recognition System (FERS) can be developed for the application of human affect analysis, health care assessment, distance learning, driver fatigue detection and human computer interaction. Basically, there are three main components to recognize the human facial expression. They are face or face’s components detection, feature extraction of face image, classification of expression. The study proposed the methods of feature extraction and classification for FER.

These Human facial expressions convey a lot of information visually rather than articulately. Facial expression recognition plays a crucial role in the area of human-machine interaction. Automatic facial expression recognition system has many applications including, but not limited to, human behavior understanding, detection of mental disorders, and synthetic human expressions. Recognition of facial expression by computer with high recognition rate is still a challenging task. Two popular methods utilized mostly in the literature for the automatic FER systems are based on geometry and appearance. Facial Expression Recognition usually performed in four-stages consisting of pre-processing, face detection, feature extraction, and expression classification. In this project we applied various deep learning methods (convolutional neural networks) to identify the key seven human emotions: anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, surprise and neutrality.

This work aims to recognize the six basic emotions using facial expression and improve the classification in term of time and space memory. We started with the idea that emotions can be absolutely distinctive and from a single feature we can recognize emotion and therefore we save time in learning data. We also noted that the similarity between the characteristics of two emotions can cause a lot of errors. So we concluded that it is necessary to specify the characteristics for each emotion to improve classification. The study of various facial features (eyes, eyebrows and mouth) of each emotion has helped us to find a new use of face features and ultimately lead to a faster classification.
