நாட்டுப்புற மக்களின் வாழ்க்கைக் கூறுகளை உள்ளடக்கியது நாட்டுப்புறவியலாகும். மனிதன் தோன்றிய காலத்திலிருந்தே நாட்டுப்புறவியலும் இருக்கிறது எனலாம். நாட்டுப்புறவியல் நாட்டுப்புற மக்களின் எண்ணங்கள், நம்பிக்கைகள், வரலாறுகள், செயல்பாடுகள், பழக்கவழக்கங்கள், சூழல்கள் முதலானவற்றை எடுத்துக் கூறுகின்றது. சமுதாயத்தின் வளர்ச்சியையும் அது காட்டுகிறது.
சமுதாயம் நாட்டுப்புற இலக்கியத்தில் சிறப்பிடம் பெறுகிறது. சமுதாயம் குறித்த செய்திகள், சமுதாய மாற்றம், வளர்ச்சி போன்றவற்றை நாட்டுப்புற இலக்கியங்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றன. எனவே காலந்தோறும் தோன்றும் பல்வேறு மாற்றங்கள் நாட்டுப்புற இலக்கியங்களிலும் பிரதிபலிக்கின்றன. உணர்ச்சிகள் நிறைந்த இவ்விலக்கியங்கள் நாட்டுப்புற மக்களின் இன்ப, துன்ப உணர்வுகள், அனுபவங்கள், குற்றங்கள், துடிப்புகள் போன்ற பலவற்றையும் வெளிக் காட்டுகின்றன. இதனால் ஒவ்வொரு காலத்திலும் நடந்த நிகழ்வுகளைப் பின்வரும் பல தலைமுறை மக்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள முடிகிறது. தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக நாட்டுப்புற இலக்கியங்கள் மக்களிடையே செல்வாக்குப் பெற்று வர இதுவே காரணம். நாட்டுப்புற இலக்கியக் கூறுகளில் ஒன்றான கதை எல்லா இடங்களிலும் சிறப்பு பெறுகிறது.
நாட்டுப்புற இலக்கிய வகைகளுள் நாட்டுப்புறக் கதைகளுக்கு இன்றியமையாத இடமுண்டு. மக்களிடையே எளிமையாகத் தகவல்களைக் கொண்டு செல்வதற்கு நாட்டுப்புறக் கதைகள் நல்ல சாதனமாக அமைகின்றன. அவ்வகையில் திண்டுக்கல் வட்டாரத்தில் காணப்படும் நாட்டுப்புற நம்பிக்கைகளை ஆய்வதாக இக்கட்டுரை அமைகிறது.

an English translation of Dastan-e-Amir Hamza Sahibqiran. The work is the longest romance cycle in Urdu, comprising a forty-six-volume written record of an oral storytelling tradition. The stories in this work are centered on the heroics of Amir Hamza, a fictitious character with complex historical and religious affiliations. As a popular Indo-
Islamic romance, it combines history, religion, and culture. This article explores the ideals of manhood and kingship as depicted in this romance and introduces a non-native speaker of Urdu to a new world of collective imagination informed by history, religion, and culture.

No two individuals use a language in translation exactly the same way. The vocabulary and phrases people use are linked to where they live, their age, education level, social status and sometimes to their membership in a particular group or community.
