Product Description
Sweet Home 3D is an easy to learn interior design application that helps you draw the plan of your house in 2D, arrange furniture on it and visit the results in 3D.
Sweet Home 3D is aimed at people who want to design their interior quickly, whether they are moving or they just want to redesign their existing home.
You may:
- Draw walls and rooms of your home from scratch or upon the image of an existing plan, on one or more levels.
- Change the color or the texture of the walls, the floors and the ceilings, importing images of your own patterns if needed.
- Drag and drop doors, windows and furniture onto the plan from a catalog organized by categories, in which you can import 3D models created by yourself or downloaded from the web.
- Customize the size, the orientation, the elevation, the colors and the textures of each piece of furniture.
- View the changes in the plan simultaneously in a 3D view, in which you can navigate either from an aerial view point, or from a virtual visitor view point.
- Create a photorealistic image of your arrangement depending on the time of the day and the light sources placed in the plan.
- Create a video from a virtual path in the 3D view.
- Annotate the plan with room areas, dimension lines, texts, arrows and a compass rose.
- Print the home plan and the 3D view or export them in files at PDF, PNG, JPEG, SVG, OBJ standard formats, to reuse designed homes in other software.
This product is sold by the developer of Sweet Home 3D and contains more than 1400 3D models and 400 textures.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2015This is basically the free version bundled with all the free add-ons, which you can do yourself with the free version if you have the time to learn how to do it and do it (which is extremely easy by the way). The program is one of the best out there, however, because it lets you change the size of objects and customize them extensively. It does not have exactly the largest library of objects, but it is very versatile.
The best feature of the program for me, besides the ease of the learning curve and the great and quick photo rendering, is the ability to customize objects, and even create new objects without 3D cad software. Each and every object can be shrunk, expanded, stretched and skewed every which way, stretching all the features proportionally. You can resize and shift any object in any way, with or without retaining the aspect ratio. One of the best features is that objects can merge with each other, meaning that they can occupy the same space at the same time. The reason why this is useful is because you can modify and create your own furniture pieces very easily by basically Frankenstein together existing shapes, but changing their texture and appearance, and then merging them together. A coke can with a matte carpet texture can become a lampshade, a basketball can become an oval art piece or a circular concrete building block. The possibilities are literally endless, as far as your imagination can take you. You can then easily group the items together and have new custom pieces created entirely within the program. To illustrate, I have attached a picture of a vintage, 1920s cherry wood bed with built in bookshelf and cabinets. It looks very close to the original, and was created using only 3 pieces existing in the program. A shelf, a rounded shelf, and a child bed. By expanding and contracting the pieces, and then merging them and pushing them together with the same texture, the end result can be achieved. Throw in a light source and a couple of pillows and the custom furniture, 1920s period bed was created. Show me another program that will let me do this in 10 minutes, and then create a photo rendering in 15 seconds, all for 15 bucks. Also attached is a detailed representation I did for a client representing an existing home office and library room. The room was created by customizing and creating pieces within the program, and it is entirely made up of the stock items and textures that came with the program, except for one texture on the floor.
Fantastic product.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2018OK program. Just getting used to it. I taught HS and Com College CAD for many years. Had great outdated home design software from 8 years ago, so my expectations were too high. I just wanted the basics at a cheap price- that's what I got. Not easiest program to learn, and some disappointing quirks. Not enough menu when right mouse clicking. When you draw a wall, put in a door or window, then move the wall, doors/windows/objects stay put, and they you have to move them. Perhaps there's a setting that fixes that. When you want to add objects there are a bunch of alphabetical icons on left of screen. These are not grouped by type, just name. The icons aren't that clear, and their labels have limited character, so not exactly sure what door/window/etc. is which you are selecting. [Has no bifold closet doors???]. I thought this would be easier than more advanced programs, but not that much simpler to learn. It's OK, decent starter program. My fault for trying to save a few bucks, don't need all the bells&whistles of big program to do basic floor plans with furniture, appliance, plumbing sizes and locations, and get ideas for exterior/interior elevations.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2016This was a FANTASTIC AMAZEBALLS program for the price. Easy to use, simple and elegant.
UNTIL WINDOWS 10 !!!!! ***DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PROGRAM _(right now)_ THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE ERRORS!!!!
As soon as Windows 10 happened, this program (which I paid for), learned to use, and now have unfinished projects in,... is useless.
I have tried and executed all of their "fix" options posted in every blog possible.
You will get an Error Message claiming you need to 'update the graphics drive - DirectX/OpenGL blah blah blah... I have tried everything available using their suggested Java updates and downloads along with running the program from their provided Java link once you download it first.
...And IT WORKED!! - unless you want to start creating something.
In this "fixed" version I could access my old projects but all my previously downloaded/imported itemswere no longer accessible except for some of the textures most of which would not appear correctly.
If you attempt to import a NEW design off their site link to free designs, it freezes - every time. FROZEN. Their claim that you have access to thousands of designs IF you use the PAID version - relies on these imports to function fully.
****ESSENTIALLY*** - I paid for a program that no longer works - They have not resolved this issue to any real effect.
AND I see NO NEW EFFORTS on their part to address this issue. If you look in their Forum, you can see that there are over 6,000 views on this ONE issue alone, while on most others there are less than 100. This CLEARLY is a problem for ALLLLLL of their WINDOWS 10 users, and its clear they have not resolved the issue, are not updating their forum, and are ducking most people's attempts at contact.
I get it wasn't a flamboyantly pricey program - but I've only had it a year, I EXPECT it to still work!
I either want my money back - or a patch to the error.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2024Used the software to write the book "Innovative Small House Construction" and it performed ideally for the intended purpose, without breaking the bank as other software might do.
Easy to learn and easy to do, and it only took minutes to understand how most of the functions worked.
Not the most professional, so it may not be suitable for super detailed blueprints, but good enough for displaying the general construction of whatever building you desired to design.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hervorragend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant
This has saved me so many hours of CAD drawings. Not only that, it looks better, is easy to use and our clients love the look of it. Not sure why this has mixed reviews as it is phenomenally easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Très ergonomique et fonctionnel

5.0 out of 5 stars Tellement facile d'utilisation

3.0 out of 5 stars Ganz ok
