Takeshi Obata was born in 1969 in Niigata, Japan, and first achieved international recognition as the artist of the wildly popular SHONEN JUMP title Hikaru no Go, which won the 2003 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize: Shinsei "New Hope" award and the 2000 Shogakukan Manga award. He went on to illustrate the smash hit Death Note as well as the hugely successful manga Bakuman。and All You Need is Kill.

    昔、途中まで読んだまま忘れていて、読みたくなって買ってみました。１６巻は「伊角の碁」ですね。
    伊角君がイケメンに進化？　中国棋院での苦悩の日々。表情の変化が惹きつけられます。厳しい表情と時々見せる、少年っぽい妙に可愛らしい表情とのギャップもドキッ。揚海さんとのカラミもナイス。二人が一緒に過ごした修行の２か月間、妄想、いや想像が膨らみます。揚海さん、最初っから伊角くんにもうメロメロ？で、きっと落ち込んでいた伊角くんを放っとけなかったのね。そして、進化した伊角くんが、ヒカルを再び碁の世界へと導く。伊角くんの碁への情熱がヒカルにも伝わったんですね。感動です。自分が打つ碁の中に佐為を見つけたというのも、何か奥が深く、凄い漫画だな～と。私は日本棋院の囲碁３段の免状を持っていますが（席亭のアルバイトもしてたんですよ～）、なかなか碁の深みを感じるまでには至らないです。碁はホント面白いゲームなんですけどね。また昔みたいに棋譜を並べて、詰碁も解いて碁の勉強しなおそうかな。伊角君の情熱が私にも移ったみたい。
