Little Miss P (Little Miss P, 1) Paperback – June 25, 2019

4.7 out of 5 stars 41 ratings

It’s that time of month, and you know what that means…a visit from Little Miss P! She always seems to show up at just the wrong time, generally armed with a heavy dose of fatigue and poised to deliver a barrage of beatings that leave her hosts physically and mentally exhausted. Though Little Miss P is often met with dread and resignation, the realities of a woman’s period are widely misunderstood―especially by those who haven’t been subjected to her gut punches on a monthly basis. Join Little Miss P―along with Mr. Libido, Mr. Virginity, and Little Miss PMS―as she visits women in a variety of circumstances, advising, harassing, comforting, and delivering more than one obligatory PERIOD PUNCH in this humorous, heartwarming collection!

Hilarious; An Absolute Gem
I was first drawn to this book by the quirky and super cute cover and was not at all disappointed by the aesthetic quality of its contents. I wish there were Little Miss P merchandise! This book is hilarious, especially if you’re into subtle, deadpan humor like me. Its stories and characters are all very relatable (I was a bit shocked to see that the author is male) and some even include historical nuggets, including the chapter on Yoshiko Sakai, the woman who introduced the first disposable sanitary napkin product in Japan. So while this book is definitely humorous, I found it pretty educational and empathetic towards the social stigmatism, pain, and uh, biological inconveniences females have always had to put up with on a daily basis.I don’t usually write reviews for books so going out of my way to share this means I absolutely loved it. I’m planning on buying more copies to give to my friends because I want them to experience the joy I got from reading this hahaha

I bought this manga to see if it would be a good resource for young girls. When Mr. Libido, a walking penis showed up talking about porn types, I got my answer. I really hate this art style but, as someone who has had difficult periods for decades , this manga made me laugh. I think it's really relatable and would better suit older teens and women who have a relationship with Miss P.
