An FPS take on Hotline Miami is exactly what I needed, and anger foot delivers. I did not know anything about this game before going in, except for a couple of shots I saw in a games I played in 2025 video. Looked cool so I said fuck it why not.

The gameplay is as said before, just like HM but in 3D. You kick open doors and any unfortunate fella standing behind the door gets decimated and then you clean up the rest of the room. You kick guy with gun, you get the gun, you shoot the gun, you run out of ammo, you throw the gun at guy, you stun the guy, you go and kick the guy and so the loop goes on and on.

In my opinion, this formula works better in Anger foot because you don't get to see what's in the next room. Everyone dies in one hit so you gotta think as fast as you can shoot. Guns feel punchy enough and do the job although I do feel like the game could've used some better abilities on the shoes. The chargers are way too OP and unless there's a gimmick challenge that needs me to take them off, I have no reason to part with them.

The structure of the game is pretty simple. You have four (technically 5) zones with about 15 levels each totaling in 64 levels. At the end of each zone is a boss fight with 3 phases, which is somehow easier than a regular level. There are also neutral levels in between the regular levels which serve to build the world a bit.

The game definitely shines in the challenges presented in each level, but they can also be really really annoying. My favorite are the ones that want you to finish a level fast but also make sure there are no survivors as completing these really makes me feel like I have perfected that level and I think this challenge should exist for every level. Least favorite one has to be the gimmick ones like the ignite a certain number of goons or the kill x goons with kicks. These are just annoying. The shoe ones, I'm neutral about because on one hand they make me use shoes I wouldn't otherwise use but on the other hand, that is not an excuse to make the abilities on the shoes so situational.

The story in the game is basically non-existent. It's kinda like the devs had nothing to say through the story and just used it as a blank canvas to paint as many stupid doodles of dicks and farts as they could fit. The game seems to think it's a lot funnier than it actually is for sure and I personally struggle to remember a time when this game managed to get any more than a chuckle out of me.

Something that bugs me a lot is the performance issues this game suffers from. Playing this game on an RTX 2080 and it still manages to dip below 10 fps at times. The average sits at about 60 which is not expected of a game that is so simple it its fidelity. The devs added an achievement for making the framerate dip below 20 fps for god's sake like the lack of self awareness is crazy. I didn't even have to hunt for that achievement so if your PC is worse than mine, it might just be the first one that pops.

Despite all of this, Anger Foot has a gameplay loop that is fun and addictive. The game is reasonably priced and gave me 22 hours of (mostly) frustration free dopamine so I would say it's a good buy on a sale.

DOOM Eternal is everything that made DOOM 2016 amazing but cranked up to a 100. The game throws a lot of situations at you but only after it gives you the tools to deal with said situations. All weapons and their respective mods have their uses throughout the duration of the game and nothing feels obsolete. Whenever I was knee deep in an arena, and the game throws multiples of an enemy that was previously considered a boss, instead of going wadahelllllll ohhhh mah gahddd no wayeyeyyyyyyy, I would go lets fucking goooooooooo.

The game certainly has a way of putting you into the flow state, where you're constantly pressing the buttons, without thinking too hard on which ones to press. You stop using your chainsaw only when you run out of ammo or as soon as it's up, but instead it flows into the rest of the combat. You avoid headshotting a Makyr drone cause you're full health and ammo so you keep that goodies pinata floating for now. You blood punch the pinkies, ice bomb the DOOM hunter, flame belch + frag a group of zombies and PB, ballista the shit out of that archville cause fuck that guy. The music tho like holy shit, it's gonna be in my 2025 recap fs, Mick Gordon DOES NOT fuck around with lawnmowers.

I have too many positive things to say about the game and not enough time so say them. Game is not perfect however, some secret encounters are either annoying and impossible or outright redundant depending on the state of your resources before going into them. I think they should've definitely given you a base level ammo and other resources before going into those. Some mission challenges are really annoying too, especially the specific sided glory kills one. Like when it says left sided glory kill, whose left side are we on about?? The slayer or the demon?? I now know after killing the same archville in nekroval part II like 20 times but still game, wadahell.

This review is after finishing the game for the second time (I remember beating it at some point in 2020 before) and this time I went for a 100%. I think collectible hunting makes for a good downtime activity between combat encounters for sure.

The lore definitely had to be looked up cause I sure as hell ain't reading allat and I think I have a decent grasp on the story now. Imo, it's really well done in the sense that it's not the good ol' AAA story where the protagonist is a killer but guys, he has a heart of gold, instead it leans into the power fantasy that the game so flawlessly provides. It doesn't get in the way of the gameplay and does the job of giving me goosebumps from the sheer swag that the slayer exudes.

I played the game on nightmare and didn't have too difficult of a time, especially in the mid and late game when I had all the tools at my disposal. Playing the Master levels on nightmare tho was a different story. I only attempted the Mars Core one and it kicked my butt the whole time. But sadly you can't save and reload on the master levels so I'll probably get into them when I have more hours in my day during the summer break.

Anyways that's all I can think of so far to say about this game. I'd recommend it to everyone who's willing to put a decent chunk of time into learning the mechanics so that they can enjoy the resulting gameplay for tens of hours to come. Excited to try the DLC at some point!!

As someone who's not that much into horror, I didn't expect much from playing through it. The first couple hours were difficult to get through, as the game didn't tell me much about what I'm supposed to do, but the deeper I went into the campaign the more I wanted to keep going. The horror is really well done cause it has its slow creepy moments with tastefully done jumpscares. I liked the combat too, even though it wasn't up to the Resi 4 standards that I had just fallen in love with. Guns felt punchy enough without taking away the horror aspect of the franchise.
The story was kinda generic tho and I didn't find it all that interesting. But tbh I am completely fine with that. It was certainly better and more understandable than Resi 4 so no complaints there.
