Donald Glover Starring in and Producing 'Spider-Man' Movie on Hypno-Hustler
Donald Glover is set to produce and star in a movie that will be centered on 'Spider-Man' villain the Hypno-Hustler. Myles Murphy will pen the screenplay.
Donald Glover is set to produce and star in a movie that will be centered on Spider-Man villain the Hypno-Hustler, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Although a script has yet to be written, Myles Murphy, who is Eddie Murphy’s son, is expected to pen the currently untitled Sony movie’s screenplay.
A director for the film, which is still in the beginning stages of development, has yet to be decided on. Hypno-Hustler first appeared in 1978’s Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man No. 24 and was created by Bill Mantlo and Frank Springer. Varietyreports that Spider-Man will not appear in the forthcoming project.
Other recent films that featured characters from Spider-Man include 2018’s Venom and 2022’s Morbius, as well as the forthcoming movies Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.
Speaking of Spider-Man, Glover previously played Aaron Davis in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming alongside Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and others.
In other news, Glover is working on a Mr. and Mrs. Smith series for Amazon Prime Video that will see him opposite Maya Erskine. Glover also co-created the series and will executive produce.
