An official cause of death has been found in the passing of adult film star Sophia Leone.

Roughly six months after the adult entertainer was found deceased in her New Mexico home, TMZ has reported that the 26-year-old died from an accidental overdose. Upon the discover of Leone’s body, police deemed her death “suspicious” and “unique,” while her mother confirmed to a detective that Leone had alcohol dependency issues and was prone to have suicidal thoughts.

Leone, who starred in over 150 titles, was also issued a GoFundMe upon her death, which was detailed as “sudden.”

“Sophia was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Grand Daughter, Niece and Friend. She had a deep love for all animals, specifically her 3 pets. She enjoyed traveling and always found ways to make everyone around her smile,” wrote Leone’s stepfather.

Other tragic losses have impacted the adult film industry this year, including Angelina Please, Kagney Linn Carter and the accidental overdose death of Jessie Jane. Retired performer Emily Willis was in a vegetative coma in February, but after her hospitalization was misreported to be from an overdose, it was later clarified as the 25-year-old didn’t have drugs in her system upon taking a toxicology test.

"With every ounce of her remarkable strength and bravery, Emily is fighting," Willis' family wrote on GFM.
