Derek Carr Fined By the NFL for Imitating Michael Jackson's Iconic Crotch Grab During TD Celebration
The New Orleans Saints quarterback will have to pay $14,000 for hitting MJ's signature move after a touchdown.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr will pay a hefty fine after he imitated Michael Jackson's signature move during a touchdown celebration.
As reported by NBC Sports, an NFL source has shared that the 33-year-old was hit with a $14,000 fine from the league after he celebrated a touchdown during the Sunday, Sept. 15 game against the Dallas Cowboys. As seen in the video below, Carr hit an iconic MJ dance move and grabbed his crotch. Despite the fine, he was not penalized.
The NFL has a history of fining players for touching players who purposefully grab their nether regions during games, just ask Marshawn Lynch. In a 2015 interview with Conan O'Brien, he dubbed the NFL the "no fun league" because he "got in a lot of trouble" for grabbing his, as he put it, "ding-ding."

Although, it apparently wasn't a problem when Michael Jackson himself performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 1993. At least, that we know of. While it will cost Carr $14,000, he's currently bringing in $71,176 weekly, so it likely won't have too big of an impact on his finances.
