Gen Z women joke they have 'post ovulation clarity' after lusting over 'every man' they see in a temporary red haze - before 'coming to their senses'

Gen Z have been slammed for revealing they make drastically different decisions due to 'post ovulation clarity'.

Hundreds of people have taken to TikTok to insist their 'fertile window' is distorting who they would normally be attracted to and plunging them into 'hormonal horny jail'.

Men have complained of their girlfriends changing texting habits and dating coaches have even urged singletons to not make any decisions until they have 'post ovulation clarity'.

The term describes the realisation of logical lucidity women reportedly experience after completing ovulation - a short window in the cycle lasting 16–32 hours.

Ovulation happens around 14 days into a woman's cycle and it's in this period that women are capable of becoming pregnant.

With oestrogen surging, some are claiming that ovulation causes them to make rash decisions regarding their romantic endeavours, arranging spontaneous dates and selecting partners they would usually disregard.

These are decisions which later turn to regret, switching them from 'freak mode to sleep mode' when the cocktail of randy hormones has washed over them.

Women across the internet are lamenting their frustrations about the effect of their hormone cycles on their romantic lives - with many claiming that a 'post-ovulation clarity' is making romance impossible

'Turns out I don't have 10 crushes, I was just ovulating,' one user, @_mssn, said in a TikTok video.

The female cycle includes four phases; the menstrual phase when the period arrives; the follicular phase, which occurs after mensuration (usually around day seven or 14); ovulation which lasts a mere 16–32 hours and hits around day 14; and the luteal phase which takes place from days 22-28.

Several complain that the third phase in their cycle distorts their romantic and sexual judgement - and that they become clear headed again in the luteal phase.

In another video, creator, Kiki posted a video - which has now gathered 24,000 views - on her frustrations of ill-decision making during ovulation.

'Name something scarier than post-ovulation clarity because I am convinced there is nothing scarier than that.

'Post-ovulation clarity will have you tethered to monsters or creatures of the night. I mean that facially and I mean that spiritually - that is the curse of post-ovulation clarity,' she complained.

'I absolutely believe that as a concept it was created by men, the patriarchy, to force women to remain tethered to unsightly beings,' she joked at the end.

Social media users lament shame and regret in the days following their sexually frustrated decision making - with several admitting to reaching out to exes or planning dates with undesirable suitors.

'When post ovulation clarity hit hard so you block the entire roster,' one captioned a clip.

In another video, @stannonbsss posted a clip with the caption: 'Pov: post-ovulation clarity - I can see and feel clearly now I'm not that same person I was a week ago.'

Elsewhere, joking about conversations women have had during the decision altering window, @emilyannwillcox said: 'Post-ovulation clarity is real.

'That thing I said last week about how you should do that thing and how our kids would have clue eyes and mixed babies are so cute - well that was a whole different person.

'Very optimistic, very unhinged and I need to inform you that she is gone now.'

Others, including user @zoeantonia_ complain of being too spontaneous during ovulation, with one describing their 'toxic trait' as  'being too much of a yes girl in my ovulation phase then when the plans actually come around it's the week before my period and I just want to hibernate.'

TikToker Aleena also said: 'Why does no one talk about ovulating and falling in love with literally every man their dog you see but then post ovulation clarity slapping you in the face and wishing you were with the girls instead.'

It's an experience felt by men as well, with videos describing the notable changes in tone from girlfriends.

'When her post ovulation clarity hits and her texts go from heyyy to hey,' several men have mourned in videos.

Others felt their partners suddenly went from 'I want you so bad' to 'what do you want'.

The term has even expanded to describe the feeling women experience coming out of other judgement-skewing phases in their cycle.

Discussing 'post-period clarity', influencer Ashe Wright admitted in a TikTok video: 'I've made a new rule for myself, the second my luteal phase starts, no decision making, I just exist in the ether.

'Tell me why I'm in my luteal phase thinking about getting a bob, I've got to cut a bob tomorrow. I've also been thinking about quitting my job and I've been thinking about sitting my boyfriend down for a big talk - I don't know about what but I'm going to clock that motherf****r for something.

'So what I'm going to do is none of those things. I'm going to wait till my period ends and then revisit the script.'

Other women in the comments concurred. One admitted: 'I’ve broken up with every bf, ended every friendship, quit every job, decided to move across the country all in my luteal phase lmaooo.'

A second added: 'Last cycle I was completely obsessed with cutting my hair into a pixie cut (mind you, I have shoulder length locs) soon as my period was over I literally have not thought about it.'
