THE SAWING

Logline: When a boy begins finding his father's severed body parts mysteriously placed around their home, he uncovers dark, twisted secrets that suggest his father’s disappearance might be tied to something far more sinister—and far closer to home.

Inspired by the hand from The Addams Family and Wednesday, I've been motivated by recent body horror films to craft a disturbing short story. The abilities possessed by the father and son characters draw inspiration from Gecko, a character in The Boys, who has a regenerative healing factor and works as a superhero for hire, albeit in a vastly different line of work.

There’s much more to explore with this part one, including the father’s occupation and how he came to be in that position. I envision a twist ending that holds significant potential. The relationship between the father and son embodies the theme of self-sacrifice for someone else, only to discover that they aren't quite who you expected.

Definitely planning more parts to this disturbing story…
