Antidotes to SPIRITUAL DEPRESSION in a time of Pandemic
As the pandemic drags on through the various lockdown levels, society has become extremely fragile. Tensions and fears ebb and flow as individuals and communities strive to deal with life under all the various measures. Social distancing, the coronavirus, economic fallout, and the loss of jobs and businesses has affected each of us in some way or another – causing much psychological anxiety and depression.
The pandemic has been devastating
This pandemic has taken its toll, not only on our physical health and our mental life, but also on our spiritual well-being. As believers, church life and the fellowship that we used to enjoy has been significantly altered. Yes, the Church has tried to go digital, with many able to watch church services online and send the link to family and friends all over the world. But there has been a significant disconnect that affects us spiritually.
Spiritual fatigue
Spiritual fatigue and a lack of spiritual direction has set in for some of us, affecting us all in different ways. We miss the fellowship, the worship, and the interaction after services. Unfortunately, some believers have totally disconnected to such a degree that they’re not even switching on and watching services; not even reading God’s Word anymore. I want this message to be an encouragement, especially in this season as we’re experiencing higher lock down restrictions again.
God’s ways are above our ways and His thoughts above our thoughts.
