Candy Confession

Christmastime was going to be special in 1958 at Croghan School. ‘The PTA was putting together boxes of bonbons, and each child was going to receive one from Santa.

Being a third grader, I knew there was the real Santa and he had helpers. Mama was up front, telling me, “The Santa’s helper coming to your classroom is going to be Jonathan’s father.”
