“When I started performing stand-up comedy in London, I went by the name of CJ. For a man who could fit in anywhere but belonged nowhere, I began to find a sense of belonging in an industry full of misfits. At that time, another transformation was taking place in my life.

Ever since I first met her, I had found myself truly, madly, and deeply in love with N. I wanted us to build a life together. After completing her masters, she landed a job in London. We moved into a house together, I proposed to her, and we got engaged. With my loans paid, us in a house together and marriage on the cards, things felt good.
