EV incentives
I read your EV article Taking Charge (Pip, Issue 30) with great interest. As someone who has been investigating EVs for at least five years, my primary concern is the fact that EVs rarely come in sizes that will hold a family of four with dogs and assorted camping gear.
Similarly, while some EVs can now tow a trailer, or have a roof-rack installed, it significantly drops their range. With the lack of Level 3 chargers (fast chargers) around the country, I wouldn’t be confident to take the car camping, which is its most important function!
I have even genuinely considered buying a secondhand Nissan Leaf from the Good Car Co, while keeping my highly efficient Prius wagon for camping trips. However, even assuming that petrol prices rise to $3/L, and charging
