I was on the inaugural Concorde flight from Washington Dulles to London Heathrow on May 25, 1976. When I first saw it, I thought, “Bloody hell, it looks like a rocket.”

Concorde was like a bus to work. I was living and working in the US, so would catch Concorde from New York in the morning, land in London at 6pm and be on the Nairobi flight within three hours. I commuted every weekend for three years.
